Absolutely, if you watch you will see they go for the throat. 2 of my cats always fought, the 7 year old female took a heart attach and died. Death can come in various ways, keep an eye on them. Separation may be the best solution; I learned that the hard way.

Yes. I have to keep my Big Bad Baby Twinkle AWAy from Cee Cee -- BBBT is twice her size, but they both fight like wildcats if one of them accidentally gets loose -- I have to play "musical cat rooms" with them -- one cats stays in the (very well-appointed -- with food, water, litterbox, safe windowsill to sit on and look out the window, bed, cat tree and of course, my stuff --cuz it's the study but it's safe for her) and the other one wanders aroeund the rest of the apratment for the day (with the same cat stuff in it as well). Then the next day the OTHER cat goes into the cat room.

It took me a while to adjust to this but believe me, both cats are HAPPY and SAFE from one another and I'm happy too.

I tried for FOUR years to get them to be friends, using the tried and true ingradual introduction, etc, but it did not work.

Big Bad Baby Twinkle is definitely the Ruler of the Roost but Cee Cee, having lived outdoors until she walked up to me one day -- and who used to be a mama cat when she lived outdoors (she and her adolescent kittens all got spayed), most probably had to fight to defend herself and her babies, so she is ferocious too.

However, when I'm with BBBT I am showered with love, and when I with Cee Cee, I am showered with love.

My coworker had 4 cats -- one pair lived upstairs and the other pair lived downstairs becuz they did NOT get along with the others.

I have two male cats and they fight sometimes. I think what you asked can happen, but I think most of the time they will pull away in time.

probably, but i don't know what kind of fights they are having? cats 'play-fight' for training, and they don't really hurt each other, but stray cats and such really do fight and hurt each other and i can imagine that they could even kill each other. the possibility is there, but not if they are only playing.
