Use the water in which you have cooked the carrots. Take about 1/4 to 1/2 cup and mix it with brown sugar and a 'dab of butter' (real butter is best for this) and 'cook it down' until it starts to thicken ... put the carrots into the glaze and 'toss' right before serving ... YUM.

I steam my baby carrots until they are crisp tender, then add 2 T butter, 2 T brown sugar, a pinch of nutmeg and a pinch of salt. I toss the carrots in the mixture to coat and then pour leftover sauce over the top of them. Yummy!

I live in Vermont, so it's maple syrup and butter -- a couple tablespoons of each for a couple cups of carrots. Yum!
