I have heard not to use plastic on cloth that will be stored for many years without use. Something about the make up of the plastic. I store my quilts in a sheet blanket or sheets and take them out every so often and refold and rewrap. I keep them in my linen closet so that I won't neglect caring for them.

Place an acid-free sheet of paper over the quilt and either roll or fold it up to conform into a properly shaped container that will accept that dimension. Store the container in a neutral temp(50-80f) and humidity neutral(about 40%) arid space. Make sure the container can breathe without insect propogation. Ceder is optimal but other natural materials exist. If you study Egyption methods you may be able to store such cloth to perfective disclosure many, many centuries beyond your passing!

The best and ONLY way to store quilts is in cotton, such as a pillowcase. Do not EVER use plastic as this invites moisture which will ruin the material! Store in a cool, dark and dry place.

I like space bags. They keep the bag sealed. You can use any heavy duty bag and have the quilt folded, use your vacuum to get the air out and immediately close it securely. Good luck.

Plastic bags of any kind are bad because they encourage mildew in bedding. Instead, use a clean white (non-bleached) sheet to wrap it up and tie it with simple white ribbon or with a non-colored raffia rope.

I picked up some of those large bags that you take the air out with a vacuum so they compress. I also tossed in a couple of those stay dry packages that come in shoe or electronics boxes. Hope this helps.
