I think this is very ironic. A muslim religion using a Christian, blessed building. I am appalled by it, and yes you're right, the muslims would not allow a mosque to be used for anything other than what it was designed for. There is an industrial estate not too far from where I live and a 'unit' has been converted into a mosque, it's ridiculous. There should be a limit to how many of these buildings are converted in this way. If more people attended church on a regular basis then these buildings would not be left empty and they could continue to serve the community in the way they were designed. If you've never attended church, just try it once, you may be surprised!

Despite the increasing secularisation of the UK, many churches are still in use by Christians, so they are unlikely to be converted any time soon.
The Catholic Church is based in Italy, not the UK. The Church of England is based in the UK, but neither the Pope or the Archbishop of Canterbury could ever accept Islam as the "successor" to Christianity. Islam's view on Jesus is utterly incompatible with the central Christian belief that Jesus is the Son of God and God.
As for the UK government, neither the non-religious people or the Christians want Sharia law in this country, most of the voting population would actively oppose its introduction. Until the current minority of Muslims in the UK can outvote the Christian and non-religious majority, Sharia law will never replace the current political structure.
The shift of religious beliefs in the UK tends to favour the growth of religious apathy and atheism rather than the growth of Islam

Why don't we convert mosques into churches? You call the UK government and Catholicism flawed, but look at Islam. Islam teaches nothing but intolerance and hate to non-muslims. Have respect for other religions! Islam was established almost 600 years after Christianity. What makes you true and others false?
P.S. Did you know the word "love" is not seen written in the Quaran anywhere?

Christianity is currently the largest religion in the world. It is followed by about 33% of all people, a percentage that has remained stable for decades.
A very substantial part of the population of the UK still attends church regularly or occasionally during the year. Regular church going isn't a pre-requisite to being a good Christian.

You can't because the real church is made up of the believers of Christ - we are the body of Christ. The churches you talk about are nothing but buildings only. It is the people that attends that is the real church.
Only one word of advise for you - "It's is better to shut your mouth and seem a fool than to open it and remove all doubts!!" Please do some thinking first next time (use whatever little you have between your ears, please!!!) before you post another question.

please get real. churches will never become mosques. isalm is a FALSE RELIGION. jesus is the lord and saviour and not a lying irratatingly wrong FALSE PROPHET called MUHAMMED. sharia law is the most evel law in the world and i believe it was created by satan to stop people from being saved. learn more about the christian fellowships before making such bold statements. isn't allah the name of your god to my mind you are calling yourself god akbar. isn't there some cruel and horrendous punishment for blasphemy. i would rather die than become muslim and denounce the true god.

Because that idea, and you, are stupid.
Why don't we convert mosques into churches? Because muslims wouldn't like it. It is the same for Christians, doesn't matter about number, as long as we are here worshipping the true Jesus Christ, there will be churches.

Oh, you're gonna be popular on here.
I see no particular point in replacing one lunatic cult with another. The choice between Islam and Christianity is the choice between Coke and Pepsi. Most people probably have a preference, but the actual difference is trivial, and both will rot your teeth. lol
