Catholics fast on Good Friday. Other things include joining in with the Stations of the Cross and the later the Passion. It is a day of meditation and prayer and reflection on how we have and are living our lives. A renewal of sorts.
Cheers :-)

No fasting is not something you should do out of tradition there is no meanning to it if you do it for tradition and not out of a genuin wanting to fast to show faith. That is a Catholic tradition and the modern catholic church has many things they should not have in their belief system such as anyone else being a mediator between you and God only Jesus is a mediato. As for what we should not do you should TRY to turn the other cheek and help others while keeping the commandments. I say try because it is humanly impossible to keep to this all the time and not sin thus why we need Jesu. I hope this answered your question.

can or can't "WE" do? I have no idea my dear. I have studied many Religions over my 50+ years. If you haven't been instructed by your Pastor, Priest, Nun, Elder, Family or Friend thus far...I give you this......read the Ten Commandments, Learn what the words mean, and follow them to the best of your ability. Once you understand that these Commandments are the simplest rules ( common sense ideals ) of life and harmony among man, you will no longer need to worry about what you or "WE" can or can't do. I hope this helps you as it is all I have to offer, as for the afore mentioned possible instructors,............. forgive them, as they know not the importance of your education.

It is good for you to want to obey the Lord God! We are told to observe the feasts and festivals the Lord God has given us, for ALL generations. Passover, is a day of rememberance. (Exodus 12:14-17)says; This day for you shall be a rememberance; you shall celebrate it as a festival to the Lord throughout the ages; you shall celebrate it as an institution for all time. Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread; on the first day, you shall remove leaven from your houses, for whoever eats leavened bread from the first day to the seventh day, that person shall be cut off from Israel. You shall celebrate a sacred occasion on the first day, and a sacred occasion on the seventh;no work at all shall be done on them; only what every person is to eat, that alone may be prepared for you. You shall observe the feast of unleavened bread, for on this very day I brought your ranks out of the land of Egypt; you shall observe this day throughout the ages as an institution for all time.
I see nowhere, it saying we are to fast, on the good friday. Only that we are to celebrate! For on this very day, we were freed from the bondage of sin throught the blood of Jesus Christ! So,make a big meal, and leave out the rolls; (leaven) and share the good news with your children! Shalom!

Christians do not have to ever fast unless they feel led of God to do so. I don't know what Catholics believe.
