you only have one life. And, hey I know we all have differences of opinion. But I think you would want to live life and not worry so much about "God" and all the mumbo jumbo. Don't you ever worry you're wasting life away on something you cant ever prove? This is an honest respectful quesiton. Im just wondering.

It feels better spreading Christianity than anything else. I've lived simply for myself for a quite a while and I just felt purposeless and empty. Something just didn't feel right.

If I was looking at Christianity from an atheist view, I wouldn't understand how obeying God and giving up sinning and all that stuff would make someone feel better and happier... but it just does - I can't explain it.

I think what's wrong with your question is that you assume being religious and having fun with your life/being truly happy are two incompatible things. You even seem to answer your own question when you say that God is a cause for worry and fear.

Also you assume that because we cannot prove religious statements scientifically/objectively then they are "mumbo jumbo".

I know of course that you are being respectful and I respect your views too, but I hope you realize eventually that Atheism is just as much a religion as Christianity or anything else..

Why? I'll be honest with you. I have found that my life is MORE full now, than it was for the first 25 years of my life that I wasn't a Christian.
I find that I worry LESS now, than I did before. Now I know that God will take care of me (it doesn't mean I'm going to go play in the freeway or anything, but I don't get stressed out about money anymore).
I'm not wasting my life. I was wasting my life before: worrying, drugs, anger, hatred, alcohol, sex, you name it! I was an atheist for most of my life, though I did go through the motions of being a "Christian" when I was younger.
And no, I can't ever prove that there's a God. But I'm sure I'll know when I die! Besides, I don't live on faith alone. I use evidence (historical, scientific, archaeological...)to back up my beliefs.

I have been religious since earliest childhood. Concentrating on something that has brought so much meaning, depth and joy to my life is not "wasting life away", as you've stated. There are many other factors aside from religion that can't be empirically proven (love, for instance). Would you like to live your entire life without love just because you can't measure it in a laboratory? I see my education and academic work as an extension of my religious belief (I'm in awe of God's creation, and am honored and enthused to learn more about it). If you are not religious, that is your business, but I am, and I'm quite happy with my decision.

While I don't exactly see 'wasting your life' and 'mumbo jumbo' as respectful, my answer is that I in no way feel as though I am 'wasting my life'. I don't subscribe to any 'mumbo jumbo', I never worry about God (as if God would need any worry), and I don't have to prove God.

I just live a full life knowing that hell is made up and that while heaven may or may not exist, this life is the guarantee and I intend to enjoy it.

Because it helps rid of us of our fears knowing that God is there to protect us, and religion teaches that we have souls and a purpose in life, not that we are mere products of evolution lacking souls and emotions.

God answers my prayers. Following the teachings of the Church has made me a better person. I have peace in my soul and hope for eternity. I have learned to love God and to love and serve his people.

I don't follow any religion, I follow God because He is my Father, because I have accepted His Son, Jesus, as my Lord and Savior because He has proved Himself to me.
