I know this is a weird question for someone like me to ask, but have you ever eaten your placenta after giving birth? what is it like? why'd you choose to eat it?

Oh my, everyone's so negative these days.
Not too long ago I read about people eating their placenta.
It's supposedly full of nutrients and is very good for you.
I mean, if your own baby lives off of it, I don't think it'd do so much harm.

I personally would not want to eat it. It's just rather gruseome sounding.

This is something animals do for two reasons: 1. the placenta is rich in nutrients and it helps enrich the mother animals milk for the baby, and 2. the animals eat it so their enemies don't have a trail to find them and destroy them. I have never heard of a human doing this, and I would not advise trying it either.

I watched a show where the family had a placenta party, it was disgusting. Isn't considered cannibalism?

For awhile when I was a kid I ate peanut butter and miracle whip sandwiches. Or I would just get up in the middle of the night and eat the miracle whip right out of the jar. My mom would eat peanut butter and bologna sandwiches. When people hear that they think I'm gross

We were offered the placenta, but declined.

Some people do it it, it is occasionally the centrepiece at the christening lunch. APPARENTLY, it is almost indistinguishable from liver.
