I'm raised without religion. My parents or grandparents never told me there is a god, neither was I told there is none. I came in contact with the concept or god and religion, because people in my environment were telling me about it, or because I saw about it on tv or something like that. I call myself a natural born atheist, and I'm convinced everybody is atheist until they are taught different. Or do you think that I, or children born from hindu parents, firsts had to be taught that christianity is not right and that they should believe something different?
Atheism is religious blankness, the initial state. Until there are good reasons to change my mind, I prefer to stay "religious blank", and if you keep up with science, you can estimate this might take a long time, most likely eternally, unless there is a god and he shows himself in a decent manner to me, and not in faulty stone-age riddles.

In the UK the trend for decades has been towards secularisation. Given that fact my acceptance of atheism was pretty much inevitable. When you live in a society of atheists it's difficult to take religion seriously.

I'm not an Atheist, I'm Agnostic....I tend to shy away from hypocrites and people who say "you people" when asking a question. I give folks fair time to show me their true colors,.. in some cases, it's just a matter of seconds before they say something that turns my head away.

I didnt want to be just another mindless sheep that followed the words of a mortal man preaching his views of god to me. To me the notions of the bible are outdated and irrelevant to me. I would rather have a personal relationship with whatever diety I chose and not have others interfer than follow organized religion.

Cause organized religion has caused more death and destruction than anything else. Also, with so many religions, what makes one right, and one wrong. Also, they make absolutely no sense.
I believe in the common moral ground that they all seem to share, but as for believing in a supreme being? Sorry....illogical.

well whenever i started learning alot of things about the world in my adolesence the whole religious institution started to make no sense. at first i thought i must be crazy because apparently no one else could see these faults and contradictions in the bible, then i met a few people like myself and decided that i wasn't crazy, just logical

Well I never felt anything when I was a theist so I started learning more about my religion and other religions and I found no logic or truth

I was raised Catholic, but when I started asking questions and getting the canned responses like ....its not for us to know......have faith......only god knows.....you will find out when you die....and so on, well, that was it for me. Reason took over, and I never looked back, once I had that guilt trip lifted from my shoulders I was on my way to freedom and sanity.

The fact that religion is the problem with this world, and God doesn't exist are the two main reasons why, dear.

Always an atheist, thankfully I've never been that stupid to believe in infantile god fantasies.
