$259 for a trans flush... damn and I thought $130 was high... But anyhow you can do it at the house but requires replacing the fluid at the same time you are removing the old fluid and usually the flow is good enough to pump more out than can go back in at the same time and can cause damage to the transmission. best to use a machine that uses constant pressure and flow on it as these are some of the problem childs when it comes to flushing. Not sure on yours, but some rear wheel drives from that time frame, you can drain the convertor as well as the pan and have at most 1 quart of old oil left and most can do it themselves.. the convertor has a plug on it to drain the fluid... If not best to leave it to a pro shop

It could be almost anything, like is in need of a tune up, or needs an air filter replaced, or needs the throttle body cleaned. Could also need the throttle cable adjusted, if it had stretched. Or could be other things wrong like toooo much weight in the vehicle, or the tranny is slipping, causing the slow feeling. Hope these help some.

Transmission not downshifting, or there may be an engine problem. Is this something that just started? Is it in 4 wheel drive? Air filter clean? bad gas?

Bottom line, if you are unhappy then take it in and get it serviced and see what they say.

You mean beside being a FORD, May need a tune up, or you could have gotten some bad gas, beside 100 other things it could be. Take it to a mechanic, they'll hook it to a scope and tell you exactly. Good Luck
