Has Heaven and Earth disappeared? No. What did Jesus mean by "everything is accomplished"? This clearly refers to final judgement. This means you need to continue following the law. It's perfectly clear, yet you do not. Why?

"I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke or a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished." (Matthew 5:17-18)

If this is meant for Jews, do you think Jews should stone people to death?

You don't have to follow the Old Testament OR the New Testament.

Yes we do. The only law that was done away with is the law concerning blood sacrifices for the remission of sins. This is because Christ was the blood sacrifice for all time , nothing else is changed. Some will tell you that the food laws in Leviticus were changed in the new testament . This was ascertained by people who don't know how to read. It is simply untrue. The original manuscripts quote says" till heaven and earth PASS AWAY , and not disappear. In fact the earth does not pass away nor does it disappear. What does pass away however is the time era or period we are in. So what He is saying is that this time period were are in will not pass away until all of bible prophesy and all of this leg of His plan for salvation is completed. Yes Meatster you are right , we need to continue to follow the law. You are right again we are clearly lousy at following the law. But the whole point is God does not expect that we would be good at it. That is why he sent Christ. It is written that even if you fail , as long as you really really tried , God considers it perfect. Where your heart is goes a long long way with God. And thank you for the civilized delivery of you question. I can see that you are very capable of in depth studying so check me out in depth. I am an easy man to find.

Another reason christians should listen to their critics. The story of the ten commandments cannot possibly be true since there are two sets and they are not the same as the story says. Set #1 in exodus 20:1-17 is the first set that we are all familiar with. The second set Moses came back with is listed in Exodus 34:12-36. That is why when the disciples asked Jesus what the greatest commandment was He quoted from Deuteronomy, not Exodus. Also, when Jesus said He came to fulfill the law He was not referring to the Mosaic law.

Everything in the Old Testament pointed towards Christ. We no longer live the Law of Moses, which was put into effect because the Children of Israel didn't know how be obedient. This was the law of sacrifice. The old testament law was fulfilled when Christ came to earth. He then taught the higher law. This was the law of love. He was the Ultimate sacrifice. We accept his sacrifice for us by sacrificing our own sins. Giving up the things we do wrong demonstrates our love for him. We still live the teachings or the doctrine of the Old Testament but not the rituals and laws. I hope this helps. Good Luck!

Ya, if you are a Jew.

Read Acts about requirements for Gentiles. (Thats us). The Law is not a means of salvation. The law is to show us how far off base we are and why we need salvation.
