Well first off should have said what program you are using which might be Windows MediaPlayer. So here it is: Get a burner first off a normal CD drive wont work unless it has a burner. Then insert a blank CD found at any computer/Electronics store. Then choose the songs you want by either dragging them into a box somewhere that is titled burn. Or right click and "add to" then "burn list" next go to the burn screen tab at top or side usally then check you arnt over time that the CD can hold and click "Start Burn" or w.e its called on your program. And wait for it to be done usally when its done the disk tray will open telling you its finished.

Depend what you are expecting to burn.
XP comes with a free built-in Roxio. Stick a CD into the driver , right click on the folder or file you want to burn then click on
"send to" and click on CD-RW. And you are done.

You need 3 things: a CD burner, a music program (i suggest limewire), and a CD burning program. (They usually come with the CD burner but you can buy one at the computer store.) Download songs on Limewire and put them on the CD program and burn it.

That depends on what do you want to burn, and what you got.

Care to provide a bit more detail?
