Format unix kubuntu for windows xp installation?
I installed unix kubuntu on pc and would like format hard drive for windows xp. Tried booting xp disk from cd but nnothing happens.The only disk that i can get to boot from cd is kubuntu unix. Help

I have tried various versions of windows managed to get origanal win 98 disk and that wont boot from disk either also tried copied xp sp2 disk still nothing.Although kubuntu unix live cd will boot.

you need 2 partisans on your hard drive you need to put windows on in the first partition and you need a swop file

Well from what you say I guess you want either to remove kubuntu or just install XP. Well just boot from your kubuntu live disc and partition the drive.

From another computer, make a nuke cd disk from
http://dban.sourceforge.net/

Boot from it and let it clear your boot area and drive, then you should be able to install ok.

If you can get the Windows cd to boot, have it delete the partition, then format.

Is the XP disk an entire version of dwelling house windows, if that's an o.e.m version and the disk is merely a reinstall disk it fairly is which you will could positioned in an entire version of XP, you have gotten wiped the OEM version from the hidden partition on your no longer common force. regrettably it rather is on of the thrill of having dwelling house windows preinstalled on a gadget, you don't get the full version.

run your kubuntu live cd, click on install, on the partition dialog box delete and then create your partition and format it as ntfs or fat32....
