My uncle got burned by a ice pack that has ammonia....it looks really bad...what can he do to heal it??

The only recommended home treatment for an ammonia burn is lots of water. Do NOT ever apply any ointment, cream or burn products to an ammonia burn as it will intensify the burn. I really recommend that you uncle go to the E.R. to have the burn looked at and treated. Ammonia burns should always be treated medically. Ammonia burns will withdraw the water in the body tissues which is why they need special treatment. By using lots of water on the burn, you are preventing the burn from sucking the moisture out of the body tissues. Please have your uncle go to the E.R.
