Well, let's say you used to workout a long time ago but then you stopped. And then like a few years later, you start to workout again. Can muscle become weaker if you don't work em out overtime? Is there some kind of disease that makes them weaker or is it just your body?

yes muscles get weaker when you don't work out over the years. much weaker over the years in fact. example a guy who works out each of his muscle groups twice a week has something happen and he has to cut it in half. he can do this for up to six weeks without losing muscle or strenght. but you go any longer than that you start losing it. now thats cut in half. totally cutting it out. i've lost 30 pounds on bench cuz i couldn't make it to the gym for 3 or 4 weeks. if ur asking cuz of your ownself and your a lot weaker after getting back into the gym. start with powerlifting. i.e. heavy weight low reps. bb terms heavy meaning six reps or less. hope this helps if ya need anything else let me know.

yes, it's called atrophy. There are diseases that cause atrophy as well (link below) but it's probably not likely that you would have one.

SLOWLY incorporate a weight training routine into your life, even if it's just doing a few squats and bicep curls while watching tv/commercials. You can gain back what you lost and believe me, your body wants that muscle back too. Don't try to make up for lost time or you'll overdue it, it's paintful and discouraging.

Muscles get weaker from lack of exercise. Also an overactive thyroid will cause you to lose muscle. You can lose a year's worth of muscle gain in several days of a thyroid being overactive.
