With my first, I told my mom as soon as I found out. I was 18 and unmarried, so I made her tell my dad over the phone. My little sister was in the hospital at the time and my parents were staying with her in shifts so that my brother would have a parent at home with him. My dad said he intuitively figured it out the last time he saw me and was waiting for me to get it :). My future ex mother in law found out a few months later when we borrowed her car and lost our ultrasound picture in it.
With my second child, I called my dad (my mom had passed away the previous year) and asked him "What are you doing on October 12th?" He replied that he would probably be at home, waiting for me to call him and tell him the baby had been born. Again, he just knew before I did.
With my youngest, I was divorcing and had been physically seperated from my first husband for almost a year. The baby was fathered by the man that I would later marry. My fathers family is Catholic and very traditional. I knew they would not take the news that I was pregnant by my lover while married still, so I waited until they (grandparent and aunts, uncles anc cousins) were all together to tell them. Unfortunately, the only time I could get such a big group together was at my great uncle's funeral. I was so nervous about telling them and wanted to do it in a public place, so I blurted out the happy news at the funeral home, in the sitting area, while they were drinking coffee and smoking. That was the most memorable and the most uncomfortable moment of that pregnancy until I went into labor.

I have the same type of thing planned but instead of a pic of me and hubby holding test I will get an I LOVE GRANDMA frame and put a note with due date in the place of a pic (ex. Decemeber 2007)
I like your idea too.

With my first I just handed my step mom a paper for pregnancy blood work or for an ultrasound (i can't remember), with the 2nd just said they were going to be grandparents again, and with this one my sister in law is due 3 months b4 me and my in-laws were talking about the bassinet and we said we would be needing it again. My mother-in-law didn't catch on my father-in-law said their pregnant, lol. It was funny. Later after my ultrasound since I am into scrapbooking a made a scrapbook page with a pic of the ultrasound and a little saying: "Here's a little peak at me, it shows I'm on the way, Little Grandchildren like me don't happen everyday!" Tho your idea is cute also. Congrats! and Good Luck!

Which time...with #1, #2, #3 or #4?? :^)
I remember telling my Mom and Dad about our first son, because we were at a West Virginia Mountaineer football game when we did it. That was the most memorable. When we recently found out that we were having #4, we let our two oldest sons tell the news.

We purhcased the book "Love You Forever" by Robert N. Munsch for each grandparent. You could write a special note in each book.

I was so excited that I had to call on the phone as soon as I took the test. Your ideas are neat though if you think you can wait to tell them.

I've been with my hubby 5.5 years (married for 1.5) and she's the only one of her siblings without grandkids yet, so she's been talking about them almost since we first got together (and she realized he was perfect...teeehee).
All I had to do is look at her and go, well, GUESS WHAT?" and she guessed immediately.
