Each major power had a bullet and reused it to save on costs.

Japan had a bullet.

Russia had a bullet.

Germany had a bullet. One of the major reasons Germany lost the war was the amount of time it took to send the bullet back and forth between the Western and Eastern fronts as it was requested for use.

Britain had a bullet.

America had TWO bullets. It used one in the Pacific and one in Europe. This is why America kicked ***.

Italy tried to borrow the German bullet, but were told to go fight the Ethiopians with sticks instead.

France attempted to create a bullet, but mysteriously were only able to manufacture white flags.

Between 21 and 47 billion rounds of small arms ammo was produced by the US.

Lt. Gen. Levin H. Campbell, Jr., Chief of Ordnance from 1942 to 1946, proudly had this to say:

From Pearl Harbor to V-J Day the Industry-Ordnance team furnished to the Army and 43 foreign nations 47 billion rounds of small arms ammunition, approximately 11 million tons of artillery ammunition, more than 12 million rifles and carbines, approximately 750,000 artillery pieces and 3/2 million military vehicles. 21.6 billion rounds of 5.56, 7.62, and 50 cal. (Source: Created by authors based on data from Alliant Techsystems Purchasing Department, Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, Missouri.)
