God frowns upon homosexuality because someone is choosing to have sex with someone else of the same sex - it has nothing to do with procreation. It is because an individual is choosing to be sinful. Although God does encourage us to have children, if an individual chooses to not have children or can not have children there is nothing in the Bible saying they are sinful.
You may not like my answer - but I am basing it on the Bible so even if you don't like it - that is just how it is and here are three verses that specifically say as much in God's Word -
I Corinthians 6:9 (Those who practice homosexuality will not inherit the Kingdom of God); I Timothy 1:10 (Homosexuality is contrary to sound doctrine); Leviticus 18:22 (Man shall not lie with a man as he lies with a woman).

By that twisted reasoning you can interpret what you have heard as anyone who can procreate has God's blessing. Father- daughter, Mother-son, brother-sister, cousins, neighbors (married and unmarried). I don't have to explain to you that each one of these is wrong in God's eyes. Let me untwist some of this for you.
The reasoning you are focused on is not the only thing that makes homosexuality wrong. It is true that two men or two women are incapable of reproduction. God created man and woman especially for one another. ANYTHING that strays from God's intended purpose is sin. In fact, God destroyed cities because of homosexuality AND the other perversions listed in my first paragraph (inbreeding and such). An infertile person is not in sin, just in a situation they have no control over.
Homosexuality is a condition that God can deal with if the individual is willing to give their life to Him. God hates sin, but is willing and able to save the sinner. God Bless.

Does it not say something about infertility in the bible? Someone please look that up, I think it does. Infertility did not bpde well for people in the old days did it? I don't know.
If it did not, I doubt that in most modern quarters that that part of the bible would be pushed.
There are Christian communities that push power by population. No birth control, more than one wife...that's how I see it. Women are for that, and expendable.
From a feminist that loves her brothers and sisters of humanity with equinimity. Speaking platonically here people!
Interesting question!

"I am told that God frowns upon it because two people of the same sex cannot procreate."
That's a stupid argument. God frowns on homosexual marriage because the marriage vow is a sacred bond and a type of Christ and the church. Homosexual marriage distorts the type and desecrates the sacrament. God not only frowns on this behavior and encroachment, He condemns it.

It doesn't have anything to do w/ procreation. Homosexuality is a sin, the Old Testament describes it as an abomination, meaning it's disgusting to God & the New Testament states that homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of God.

It's not natural, open your eyes, homosexuality is an abomination, it is a perversion, it's a lust thing, don't get it mixed up with a marriage, they can make it a law all they want but marriage will always be between a man and a woman no matter how much people try to pervert it

Procreation isn't what sanctifies a marriage, first of all...
secondly, as already stated: Homosexuality is a sin. Infertility is not.
thirdly, homosexuals really ought to learn to start being obedient...If you guys/girls want to join in union --- 'similar to marriage' ; Than why don't you just do so without using the term marriage?
Why have you got to be stepping on the church's toes, and kicking up a big stink over your hormones raging?
Why can't you just call it something else like "samesex union"; and have it done outside of the church?
Leave God out of the whole homosexual relationship thing...He forbids it, homosexuals are disobeying him by pressing it, and they really ought to get an ounce of respect for heterosexuals who are morally against it.
(I'm really sick of hearing the equal rights garbage! If you want to be treated equal, than act equal! And recognize (just like the rest of us) that God is going to hold you accountable!!)

Men and women were created to each reflect different qualities of the character of God.
Marriage is meant to be a union of these qualities as well as a union of two individuals.
Homosexuals neglect to bridge the gap in the battle of the sexes - which is part of what love is all about.

Christians naturally have all sorts of reasons why they MUST discriminate against others. Your point is right on the mark, however. According to their professed logic, couples should be checked for fertility before marriage, because if one of the couple is not fertile there is no possible reason for marriage. As well, elderly people should of course not be allowed to marry, as they cannot have children. Do Christians believe this, or are they just hypocrits? All that we get from christians are dumb platitudes such as hate the sin love the sinner. They choose to forget other platitudes such as judge not lest ye be judged. It makes sense to them, in the context of everyone but themselves, that the sole purpose of sex should be to have children, and any other motive is sinful. Anyone who is not married should be as celibate as a priest, wait ... ignoring all of the priests who fail miserably. No wonder the christian god tells everyone that they are sinners. I would throw in a platitude here such as let he who is without sin cast the first stone, but christians prefer the easist of the platitudes, such as seek out sin outside of your own house and punish it severely, and be sure to forgive yourself your sins.
