IE7 is a great improvement over the many security holes existing in IE6 (although IE7 have lots of security holes too, but they're much less than IE6). IE7, however, has a brand new interface, you might need a long time before you could adapt to it's new interface (which I _personally_ think is a backward step compared to IE6, and looks very sharp and edgy, although I usually hates roundish interface, don't know why I couldn't like IE7' edgish interface). IE7 has tabbing, which is present natively on almost all modern browser, except IE6.

But a better choice would be Firefox, it's much more secure than both IE6 and IE7, and you can rest assured that the only pages that IE can display but Firefox can't would be the Windows Update site.

IE7 has better security, it has more regular updations, and IE6 was pretty weak, mozilla firefox beat its *** for security as it could block automatic downloads of trojan viruses.

IE7 will undoubtedly have better security to stop the viruses cutting through your PC like butter. Also IE7 has a zoom feature, hold ctrl and move the scroll wheel. This is very useful, as you don't have to save small pictures to get a better look at them.

My recommendation is to retain IE6. MS has had a fair share of complaints about IE7, to the point that MS allows you to opt out of installing IE7 via Windows automatic update. As is typical with MS software, the initial end user also acts as the guinea pig to ferret out issues with their releases. Give MS a year to fix the bugs with IE7, and it will probably be fine then.

I upgraded to ie7 some months back and it is nicer to look at than ie6, yet not greater solid, and it is painfully slow to open a clean tab - whether it does have tabbed surfing so greater effective than for that reason on my own. As others will little question element out, the two Opera and Firefox are far far greater effective concepts. you may continually get carry of, attempt, and un-deploy them in case you dont like them!

I use Firefox and my Windows updates just fine.
IE7 is marginally safer than IE6, but FF is safest and easier to use. Plus IE7 trashes some web pages so you can't see them the way they were desiogned to be displayed. I have FF, Opera and IE7 and use them in that order.

Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.

IE7 will be better for advanced web features.

I use IE7 and Opera 9. IE7 works well on some websites and Opera is good for opening many sites.
Have not tried Firefox but it may be worth a try.

Like IE7 - have it downloaded onto our laptop. Damn thing won't download onto desktop for some reason. Got to like the tab system through using Firefox for a time, but won't use Firefox anymore because, whenever running Spybot Search & Destroy, there were always issues connected with it that had to be rectified.
