The fact that your TV still works after 18 years is impressive!

It's very likely that the picture tube is gradually wearing out, so it may be time to look for an upgrade.

yes its now wearing out . but with a very impressive 18 years of service!!!!

18 YEARS!!!! WOW! its likely that the electron gun in your picturetube is failing. this can usually be replaced but as youer tv is so old i thunk it would cost a fortune to fix. i reccommend you buy a new tv.
