I wouldn't say that I see poorly at night, and my day vision is fine. I don't have any need for glasses or contacts. I'm just wondering if there is something I can do to improve the way I see at night.

let me tell u that vitamin A is responsible for the formation of proteines in the retina known as:rhodopsin which is essential for a good and normal night vision.
so ti improve ur night vision increase ur vit.A intake either by eating carrots, tomatoes,or any pigmented fruits and vegetables contains carotene or by supplemens.
this will help if u had good night vision but it deacresed.
good luck

I don't know how old you are, but night vision does fade with age. My sister, who is over 40, thought she was seeing so poorly at night that she went to the eye doctor. It was time for her driver's license to be renewed and she was afraid she wouldn't be able to pass the vision test. The eye doctor tested her eyes and all he said was he didn't understand why she couldn't see as her vision was 20/20.

She has not so far found anything that would help and the eye doctor certainly wasn't any help.

I hope someone on here will be able to come up with a solution for you. Good luck.

Well try going around the house in the dark at night and try to find certain things, you'll have to strain your eyes if you wanna see in the dark or don't close your eyes right away when you go to bed turn the lights out then stare for a few minutes and then you will be able to see in the dark but your vision will get worse if you try to see in the dark.

Hold news paper at about 14 inches. Observe the sharpness. Strech the arms and see again. If it's improving , you should be celebrating your 40th Birth day soon.{ Logically, increasing distance of the object by streching hands should make it difficult to read }This happens at the age of 40. Night vision loss ,some times, is one of the indications of Presbyopia, the loss of ability to focus at nearer objects.
