I watched that special on the history channel. It made sense that Ahmose would be pharoh during that time after they showed their proof...however, they had to adjust the time frame quite drastically to make their thoery work. So who knows. It would be interesting to know for sure. Hopefully one day we will but I dont know. It was so long ago. Even with all o f the recordings its hard to tell. Everyone seems to have their own thoery and some sort of manipulated evidence to back it up.

We're not told who was pharaoh during the Exodus. Most folks seem to think it was Ramses II. We just don't know, and trying to nail down which one it was has no real relevance to the Exodus story. It'd be nice to know, and I look forward to getting to Heaven and finding out. I love Egyptology and I follow it pretty closely. I don't think I qualify as even an amateur, but I have a pretty keen interest in it. Personally, I think the pharaoh at the time of the Exodus is not recorded. I mean, the dude lost over 3 million slaves, he was bested by the God of the Hebrews (who, by their viewpoint was the God of slaves), he was killed in the Red Sea while trying to bring them back...the Egyptians could not have liked that, not one bit. If it were me then, and this happened to my "divine ruler," I'd do everything I could to make sure either that the events never got told, or that there was no evidence that such a stupid god-king ever ruled in my lands.

It shouldn't be something that you have to believe. The egyptians were quite good at recording things, so do some research.
