Unfortunately there are still some that are uneducated enough to believe so. They believe that the Flintstones is considered to be historical fiction.

I am not sure how old the world is, but I think Scientists could be wrong on that. The carbon dating that shows this world is 300 billion years old or whatever, I don't believe that is false, I believe that the matter that was used to create this world could be that old. Also nobody knows how long Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden. They could have been there days or years, but that really does not matter.

As for the Dinosaurs. I believe that the world was peaceful until the fall of Adam- There was not death until that time. So the dinosaurs could not have died off until after the fall of Adam and they would not have been as ferocious as we are told until after the fall of Adam. Science says that people did not live on the earth at the same time as the dinos because they have never found people bones with dino bones. Why do we assume that they would have lived together? It would not have made sense for humans and dinos to live together. they would have ruined the homes of the people just because of how big they were. People don't generally live with the Lions or Elephants- why would we have lived with the Dinos? They do mention in the Bible that great giants and beasts roamed the earth. I think they were wiped out in the flood. That is just my belief, I have heard no religious doctrine to back that up.

Also in the Eternal scheme of things, none of this really matters.

To be truthful, I'm a Christian and I happily admit that I do not know how old the universe is....I wasn't here when God created it. I also believe that it really doesn't matter. I feel that Christians who attempt to prove this are acting out of pride and arrogance...just as those scientists who attempt to prove that the universe is billions of years old. God does not ask us to prove how old the earth is....it isn't relevant. If it were, God would have inspired Moses to write, "About a thousand years ago, God created heaven and earth." All he said, however, is "In the beginning...".

In truth, science and religion do not have to be at odds with one another. Science seeks to understand the nature of the universe, and for that reason I do not fear science. If I believe that God created the universe, then science seeks to understand God's creation. In so doing, as man's knowledge increases, he would inevitably discover that God must have created it. I feel that we are currently at an awkward stage in our understanding of the universe, however. We have just enough knowledge to believe that God could not have created it, but not enough to realize that it could not exist by mere chance.

Scientific understanding of the universe is based only on what we can observe and measure. If I were to walk into a clothing store, I could buy a pair of blue jeans that "look" like they're about 20 years old....they have holes, stains, loose threads, etc....but in truth they are brand new. From what I can observe about these jeans, I would say that they are, in fact, 20 years old. However, because I don't have any insight into the manner in which they were created, I can never really know how old they actually are.

Much the same with the universe. Because we cannot yet understand the manner in which God created the universe, we can only guess at it's age based on what we observe in nature. However, we err when we try to limit God to the laws of physics which He, Himself, created. I certainly couldn't create the universe in six days, but I'm certainly not going to say that God couldn't do it.

There is evidence that points to a young earth, which would include Adam and Eve on the earth at the same time as ALL of God's creatures.

Please see source article, it is too long to post here. It contains information that is difficult if not impossible for science to refute.

They may have not walked with the dinosaurs, but I believe this Earth is not millions of years old like some people do, only God knows how long the Earth has existed, and only he knows how longer it will exist.

I tend to lean more toward this belief, but it is not an essential doctrine of the Christian faith. It is interesting to discuss and debate, but in the end, Christians can disagree with each other on this issue.

I believe that while God could have created the earth 6000 years ago, it is actually much older.

I have heard people make this claim, so I know that there actually do exist such people. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't heard it with my own ears. If you don't throw up first but stay and listen for more, they get far more weird.

Here I am

I know people from Africa that said our schools are dumb for teaching the dinosaurs are millions of years old. Seth said he saw one before as well as his family.

WE are not dumb for believing this, most evidence points to this.

And they're all Americans. What is it about US society that encourages ignorance and stupidity? No one in their right mind believes the world is 6000 years old.
