If the tail is quivering, she's spraying. Try drjon@petplace.com , this is where I go. Also our vet lives next door. Luck from Brian&Stimpy...

It actually sounds like your cat is in heat. She needs to be spayed. Heat is a natural cycle, but it is also generally irritating. Her next step may well be all night yowling if a Tom Cat shows up in your yard.
There are a LOT of benefits to spaying your cat. Masticular (breast) cancer is the most common tumor in female cats and dogs. (Testicular in males) The first heat has increased her risk for these cancers, but her first litter will TRIPLE her risks. Also, you should be aware that EVERY litter a cat or dog has takes about a year off of their life span. A good example of this is female dogs in puppy mills. A breed that should live 15 years is ancient and dying at 6. Cats are no different.
Also, you should know that cats have a similar cycle to humans. If a cat does not get pregnant, most go back into heat only 3 weeks later. For some it's a little longer, for some shorter. Some NEVER go out of heat unless they are spayed or pregnant.
Heat cycles are not comfortable for cats. While it may not be agonizing pain, there is a definite discomfort, similar to cramping in a human involved with the feline heat cycle.
Your cat CAN be spayed in heat and it CAN be spayed if it is pregnant. If you can't afford to pay much look for low cost spay and neuter clinics in your area. Some resources for that are:

If she's not spayed she' sprobably in heat.
Getting her spayed is a great idea.
If your daughter is hurting and annoying the cat (how old is your daughter??) like that, then please keep your cat at the vet's an Extra day or two after she's been spayed so your daughter doesn't hurt her while your kitty is trying to recover from that operation!
It would be a good idea to ask the vet to also check to see if your daughter has physically Injured your cat -- no child should be allowed to rough up a cat or a dog.
It would also be wise to supervise the interaction between your daughter and your cat to make sure the cat does not get roughed up any more. Children need to learn how to properly respect pets and how to behave around them.

Sounds like she's in heat and she just liked what your daughter did! Take her to be spayed - the vet will check her over to make sure she's OK before going ahead anyway.
You can spay a cat in heat. It's not like with female dogs, where it's dangerous. All cats are in heat at this time of the year (in England), all the cats we spay at the moment are. It just means the uterus is more engorged (full of blood, ready for implantation) , it doesn't really affect the op.

She is in heat! Have her spayed immediately before a male cat gets to her and gets her pregnant. A cat goes in heat every 2 weeks or so. If you don't get her spayed, she will drive you nuts with all the meowing and caterwauling.

Shes in heat. Better keep her in the house or get her spayed. It is not painful for the kitty, but may get quite annoying for you. It will stop and then start again once shes in heat. My cat did the same thing before I got her spayed.
And my kitty is still very affectionate after the spaying, she just doesn't make weird noses anymore.

We have a female cat at our home, and about every three weeks she meows louder than any cat should be allowed, she lifts her back end, and swishes her tail around. It last about 3 to 4 days. She always wants to rub up against us, or any object for that matter, and her temperment jumps from loving, to mad as fire. It sounds as though your cat maybe in heat.

We can't tell if she's injured because we can't see the cat; but toddlers cause broken shoulder blades in a lot of cats and dogs every year by falling on them and squashing them. Please take your cat to the vet for a check up. If it turns out she's in season you can arrange to have her spayed.

You cannot fix a cat in heat. IF she is in heat you have to wait until the heat is over for the fixing to occur. I believe, from memory, that the cat needs to be out of heat for 5 days before she can be fixed.
However, if you cat wailed when being brutally crushed by your daughter, the cat should be taken to the vet for xrays. There is a chance that there was an injury. Abnormal behavior is a cat's way of trying to tell you something. If this abnormal behavior is your cat being more attentive, it is trying to tell you that it needs attention.
And please, teach your children proper respect for animals. They are another life.

It sounds as if she is in season but if you are in any doubt and think that she might have been injures take her to the vet. She will need spaying soon anyway before she drives you mad.
