I have been hearing it through the grapevine of girls I talk with. Suddenly I am thinking about it too. What are the do's and don'ts of trying to date a male police officer...

well, male police officers that are just starting out are so hot, to me anyways. they take care of their bodies, they are strong, active. and the thought of them out there protecting us is very attractive, like he wouldnt let anything happen to you.
the downside is that they can be obsessed with their bodies, working out whenever they arent at the station. so they dont have too much time for a relationship. and they can be kinda cocky too, which in a way is attractive, but can get old.
i met an officer who was pretty cute and muscular, but we had nothing in common. he was a runner and worked out obsessively. and he never wanted to go out anywhere, he said it was because he couldnt sit back and let people drink and have fun and know that he cant do anything to stop them when they walk out the door. which i can understand that you want to protect the public, but cant you sit back and relax one time?
but i wouldnt "seriously" date a police officer. they have the highest rate in cheating occupations, and i dont put up with that crap. just wait to meet someone you like no matter what their occupation. in the end, it doesnt matter what they do for work, but how well you two are together. good luck

It's the badge and uniform. Us girls LOVE men in uniform. Police officers can be great, but some are assholes. You just need to find the right one.
However some opinions on here are horrible. For example not all police officers cheat/ are assholes. My uncle is a cop. He's the nicest guy ever, he has a wife that he's been married to for 10 years, and they've never had a problem.

I wouldn't want to date a police officer since they are under too much stress. I have heard, through the grapevine, that they tend to be abusive in relationships.

I was one of those "girls" I am 50 years old now, and one thing you should know is that the divorce rate with cops is very high. I thought at 18 I knew it all and could keep my marriage together. Sure it was cool watching him put that uniform on and the .....gun. He was very much in control... now remember, this is from my experience... what I know....My X husband was a control freak, which didn't come out until "after" we were married. He also abused me ... he was 28 years old and I was 18. Very soon it wasn't cool to see him dress for work. I was glad he was going. He brought drugs home after a bust, taking more then what he turned in. Officers, a lot of them are good people, but they all deal with issues.
My X remarried 7 more times after me, and I found out he died in his trailer alone and no one knew he had died until four months later and the smell is what brought people to find him. With all the bad things, no one deserved what happened. Even his own son from another marriage and my daughter from that marriage didn't want anything to do with him.
I have dated a lot of cops and all were controlling, worked at a jail and saw controlling there too.... all I can tell you is beware! Enter into a relationship very slowly and carefully.... there are some good men and women cops out there....

I can't tell you the do's and don'ts but you should keep these things in mind:
1) police officers cheat at a much higher rate than other males. It comes from have plenty of women attracted to them...like you.
2) police officers have one of the highest divorce rates of any profession.

Date ,specific. in basic terms because of the fact which you're a police officer does not mean you do not have the comparable rights as the different guy. I pray you do not fall in love. it is yet another tale and it has not something to do including your job. Say you fell in love and have been given married and had toddlers, each little thing is nice. you have been married for approximately 18 years. you're taking your spouse out to dinner and to a dance. some guy comes up and ask you if he can dance including your daughter. This happened to me various situations and led to extra issue than shall we shield. Ours began after 5 years of marriage and in basic terms have been given worse each 365 days. He strengthen into so jealous he made himself unwell and my existence hell. for sure we divorced. Date who ever you desire to yet earlier getting extreme think of roughly it.

At heart of everything, girls are looking for a version of Daddy. And nothing says "Daddy" like a guy carrying a gun and a badge.
If you're the type of person who is naturally submissive, gets off on Alpha male, possessive, controlling types and doesn't mind your boyfriend occassionally hitting you or cheating on you - then you should date a cop.
If you're NOT - I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

its the woman love to feel protected thing lets face it police officer in uniform is the poster of protection. woman just want to feel safe with a guy thats why its a big turn on .

It is due to the power of the uniform and badge.
P.O's usually are the types who cheat on their partners whether married or single.
Research the divorce rate ... the mental abuse ... look elsewhere for someone to date!
