There seems to be some advantages in being an illegal alien in the US vs being a citizen of the US.

I don't think that I would call it a form of "immunity". More a form of abuse of the legal system that it seems that many do not want to enforce when it comes to illegals.

Example - An American commits a crime. They are finger printed, booked, jailed. They then can come up with the bail to get out of jail. Because they are an American, there are ways to help keep track of them - social security number, home where they live, etc.

Then there is the illegal. They commit a crime. But because their papers are not legal even the name that they give very well is not their real name. Finger printed - but with the overload in the legal system, the fact that they were possibly previously arrested is not known till someone finally gets all the results back - along with all the other results that they are getting at the same time - to compare and read the reports. So by the time that they are thru with the booking process, and the spending a night in jail in time to have bail put up for them - they are long gone with no intent of ever returning (till they are finally caught). Can't track them by social security number - they are using someone elses. Drivers lisc. - too often they don't even have one. The reality of many that are no relation to them at all living within a single family dwelling - not going to help.

Till it can be proven that they indeed have a right to be here and are not a flight risk they should be held. This "immunity" that they seem to have will continue to exist till such an approach is taken.

Yes it is called a total lack of responsibilty.

There was a case where an illegal immigrant (invader) got in a car accident and just ran away from the scene.

It sure seems so. They seem to be exempt from every law the rest of us have to abide by.
