why should it? i know the Ten Commandments, and there's nothing in there that says 'do not look for your church's crimes in its history. God forbids it'. Go for it

No. Whatever the Church stands for, its actors were only men. As a matter of fact, if one truly wants the Church to thrive, one should want the Church to become better and truer to its mission. Sweeping things under the carpet and defending the guilty will do nothing but corrupt the Church, and eventually make it an irrelevant institution.

For nothing is hidden, except to be revealed; nor has anything been secret, but that it would come to light.
Mark 4:22

That all depends on ow you define "truth". If by "truth" you mean pay attention only to libelous and slanderous claims against the Church while at the same time ignoring factual information, I would have to say; yes, that is wrong.

If by truth you mean an honest and open-minded search for verifiable facts with a minimal of bias of any kind inserted in anywhere, I would have to say; no, nothing wrong with that.

Having already done some of this research myself, I can advise you from experience - be honest and open minded, for your own good if no one elses.

God will hold you to account for your deliberate misinformation that defames His One True Church.

I'm not catholic but I believe that if they haven't that they must.
We must know the truth because the church has gotten rid of statues and changed many things since they are able to read the Bible in English instead of Latin. The crooked Popes in the past were just mere men full of greed. The Pope is not God. The Pope is a sinner just like other men. And just like other men he is saved by grace.

No everyone has the right to investigate. The Catholics have committed many as is well documented in newspapers. The priests that abuse young men are directly going against the teachings of the bible. They should be stripped of their position and be forbidden to preach anywhere.

Absolutely not. Each person can benefit from examining their own personal and collective history with positive intent towards positive future development. If each person begins with themselves and works outward into their environment with positive intent, there is great hope for the future.

As most agents of positive change will attest, this practice requires ardent work and willingness to experience change, and can prove to be hazardous to one's physical safety or place in one's community.

They say they know these things do not have God vested powers but when the Jews created the golden calf God didn't accept that same answer and would have killed them all if not for the pleas of Moses.
