French Door or Sliding Glass Door?

Which do you prefer leading out to a Florida Room with a water view. I think the sliding glass door will make the view easier to see.

french door- with no panes. Then you can open both doors at the same time. With a slider, you only can open one side. I have the sliders, and would prefer both doors to open.

Ooh. French. Yes, sliding glass will make it easier to see THROUGH, but when you didn't mind getting some air, the French doors would open all the way up so you could see WHOLE view WITHOUT looking through glass. Plus, when you don't want to leave them open, the style more than makes up for the view you lose, in my opinion.

I would seriously consider French Doors. They may cost a little more, but will significantly increase the resale value of your home. Anyone and everyone has those ugly sliding glass doors, but a buyer for you house would fall in love with French Doors. Trust me, this is an upgrade that will pay you back in the long run.

I have had both, and definitely prefer the French Doors. You can two French doors installed and either open one door or open both doors for the view. Because we did not want the insects to come in we also installed two screen doors and we enjoy the breezes and comfort of security.
As the sliding door, they are okay until they get stuck, and you need to replace the wheel, big hassle to do per my husband. If you get the slider invest in a door stick or baseball bat for security cause they are easy to open to break in for a burglar.
French door often better security in locks.

French Doors

There lovely and you never have the problem of them sticking as sliding door
They have more atmosphere and to a beach view how nice

I lived in New Orleans and had them I loved them to open to my balcony over looking my courtyard

French Doors come in many sizes now not just traditional slender

French doors look so much better no matter your view. They just add a more elegant touch than a slider.
