sounds like some sort of depression to me too .. # 1 DO NOT take "happy pills" as one poster suggested! Unless you have been diagnosed (after proper testing) with a "Clinical Depression" You do NOT need pills! grrrr .. no wonder so many people turn to addicts! Pills pills pills - Half the problem with our society is we don't deal with crap .. we self medicate.
You really should speak to a "Mental Health Professional" .. someone who knows something of which you speak - not likely you'll find that "expert" (or a REAL one) here! .. Anyway.. MOST people really just need someone who they trust and who is safe to Talk to .. get it all out , rather than letting it spin in your own head .. sometimes a good old fashioned venting session with a counsellor or good friend and a good cry helps.
Feelings are neither right or wrong - they simply are. They often are like guideposts for us .. when you feel good - you're likely doing what you feel you should be doing .. something you truelly love .. when you feel bad .. good chance You aren't doing something you feel you should be .. or you're doing something you feel you shouldn't .. Unless you are a victim or child abuse (sexual, emotional or physical) - in which case you really should seek a counsellor (again NO PILLS!!) .. or if you are presently a victim of some form of abuse .. Perhaps you are not "free" to be who you are?
Anyway .. I can tell you this for sure - Beating yourself up will only lead to more self loathing .. it is a guaranteed downward spiral ..
I know it sounds corny .. but try this ... and if at first you don't think you can .. just keep trying .. and do it x 2 a day .. morning and evening .. or more often !! til it works! ..
Stand in front of a mirror, look yourself in the eye and say "I love myself exactly the way I am. I am a perfect me." Most people cry or get angry the first time they do it (not easy to look yourself in the eye! lol .. impossible to lie to yourself looking in your own eyes too! try it! ) ..
If you just don't believe the words .. try writing out exactly what it is about you that you would change .. and then write exactly "why" .. and ask yourself .. would you try to change that in a friend or would you accept them .. cuz we all have quirks? ..
Anyway .. sorry for the babble! .. Just PLEASE be careful what advice you take online. There are a lot of people claiming to know a few things (including me!) .. You can never be sure .. and we are all (really) strangers .. so .. careful who you trust.
Be your own Best Friend.
I hope you find your way out of the maze of confusion .. I did it .. so you can too.. Hugs!
Janis

to me it sounds like you might have bipolar disorder. my daughter has it and sometimes she cant be around anyone because she she gets so upset wether she feels mad, irratated, depressed, or just plainly having a bad day. other times she will physically harm herself and ask me why she feels that way. and sometimes she is so happy nothing can stop her euphoria. nothing hurts her and sometimes she cant hear anything because she is in her manic (hyper) state. reguardless if she is depressed or manic at the time, she has a hard time focusing and concentrating. it is truely heart breaking. she was started on a mood stabilizer and is doing very well. she walks around with a smile instead of tears. please get some help with this.

sit down by yourself prehaps in silence or with your favourite music on and take a step back look at your problems and think about wither you can fix them or if they are going to last forever chances are there not. try and talk to someone if you cant do that write what you feel down. if you are intrested in art, poetry, singing or anything like that make a piece about how you feel e.g draw a picture, best of luck.

listen, don"t run to the doctor to get "happy pills"as there called they don"t work,i have been there ,they really are not for every one.I would suggest surrounding yourself with positive people, try walking ,a hobby that keeps you busy.I got a dog to keep me busy, sounds funny but the long walks are great.lol
