Briar Rose: so by default, because I am LDS, you assume I am racist. That makes about as much sense as someone asking others to tell them what their beliefs are.

Mormons believe that ancient Jews came to the Americas and set up a civilization, they believe that one group of these peoples were cursed to have red skin due to something they had done (forgive me, I cannot remember what it was) and they are the ancestors of the Native Americans.
They believe there was a great war and the civilization was destroyed, and that Jesus came to the Americas and spoke to the Native Americans.
They believe that Joseph Smith was told by God that all religions on the planet were wrong and that Joseph Smith would be given the truth.
He was led to some golden plates on which the Book of Mormon. To make a long story short, Joseph Smith supposedly translated the plates by looking into a hat with some stones in it.
They believe in a continual line of Prophets who bring God's word to the world. The Prophet is put into position in a similar way as the Pope - though not exactly.
They believe in baptism for the dead, they believe there are three levels to heaven and no hell. You can be saved by
a) a testimony of belief in Joseph Smith
b) works through the temple
c) Following the prophets
d) and testimony for Jesus
You must be baptized by full immersion in a baptismal and a laying on of hands to give you the Holy Spirit.
They believe in the sanctity of family and that families can be together as a family for eternity. They believe in eternal marraige, they believe they can become gods.
There is the basics, there is so much more, good and bad.

They have a dark history.
I'm sure most know about the polygamy but they believed that the whites are people who sided with Jesus, blacks are those who sided with satan, and the undecided are the asians.
They say that Jesus did have a second coming. He summoned the roman soldiers to fight with the Indians and the roman general lost the war and gave what was inspired by an angel to give to John Smith the book of mormonism. However no roman artifacts were ever found in north america.
When things conflict with the Bible and the book of mormon, they are told to listen to the book of mormon over the Bible.

Below is a passage from The Wentworth Letter that Joseph Smith, Jr. wrote after being asked about the basic beliefs of the Church. This collection of thirteen statements are known as the Articles of Faith and present an overview generally accepted by most Latter Day Saint denominations.
We believe in God the Eternal Father, and in his son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
We believe that men will be punished for their own sins and not for Adam's transgression.
We believe that through the Atonement of Christ all mankind may be saved by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
We believe that these ordinances are: 1st, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; 2nd, Repentance; 3rd, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; 4th, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
We believe that a man must be called of God by prophesy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
We believe in the same organization that existed in the primitive church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists and so forth.
We believe in the gift of tongues, prophesy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues and so forth.
We believe the bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that he will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes. That Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon this [the American] continent. That Christ will reign personally upon the earth, and that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
We claim the privilege of worshipping Almighty God according to the dictates of our conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—we believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy we seek after these things.

While I can't tell you what you personally believe, I can talk to you all day about what your church teaches and has taught. Whether you believe all of it is up to you. Most Mormons, being intelligent, don't actually believe all of the doctrines that their church has propogated.
EDIT: You can't spell "Militant Atheist" without "Man Sh!t"
Kleb: There was actually one more article of faith in the Wentworth letter, but the Church doesn't use it anymore. If you can find what it is and put it in an answer to one of my questions, I will give you ten points!

I cannot believe you'd post such a question as this! I suggest that you attend Sunday school in the Gospel Essentials class and reaffirm your beliefs that way.
Added: Mormon_4 has said succinctly what Socmum's intentions are. It is amazing to me that many in the world actually believe those distorted tongue-in-cheek answers that Mormon_4 has given.

Well, you're a Mormon, right? Shouldn't you know what you believe in? I mean, I'd expect Catholics to know what their beliefs are, y'know? I know plenty of Mormons, but I'm fuzzy on their beliefs. However, they all seem incredibly sweet and friendly, so it really doesn't matter to me what their beliefs are.

No....you know what you believe.
All I can remember without cutting and pasting is the first article of faith:
Belief in God, the Eternal Father, in his son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
Oh, wait, I remember the second one (b/c it was always my favorite):
Believe that people will be held accountable for their own sins, and not for Adam's trangressions.

Due to your gullibility, parental taping, and lack of proper education it's more than likely that you have accepted a belief system that is based upon mans theories, possibilities, conjecture, hallucinations, dreams, nightmares, and deliberate falsifications in order to tame your natural human behavior to a point of total submission...
