The greatest single cause of atheism in the world
today is Christians who acknowledge Jesus with
their lips, then walk out the door,
and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an
unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.]
I think it's the fault of christians and atheists. They arent gonna believe if they dont want to.

The belief of the atheists is the fault of Satan who made the atheist believe on him instead of God.

It is Satan who is dictating in their hearts about their disbelief in God and which the atheists accept it.

Relax. Christians didn't cause atheism. There have always been people who simply don't believe in god. Your point has validity in one area though. The Christians who do that don't have much of a leg to stand on if they try to debate the issues with an atheist. All of my friends tell me I am a good person (whatever that is), and I'm an atheist. Most of my freinds are Christians, but we never debate with each other. I respect them; they respect me. That's the way it should be.

This is true. There are people who are wondering about the eternal and they see "Christians" living lives that conflict with what they claim to believe. The testimony of many C hristians is confusing to the searching. Therefore, they stop searching.
Many Christians live in a way that is embarrassing to Christ
Not all, thank God, but many. Not that we are yet perfect, It's a work in progress, sure. But, we mustn't take the attitude that because Jesus blood has set us free, that our lifestyle doesn't matter. It does. And faith that has no works is dead (James chapter2)

When I was about 16 I dyed my very long, very blonde hair bright orange (henna). My father was horrified, and spluttered "but, but you KNOW I hate red-heads, why do you want to hurt me like this?" Actually I had no idea he had anything against red-heads (and I still don't know why). He could not accept that everything I did wasn't in some way a direct reaction to him.

The shrinks would have a field-day with his failure to progress beyond the toddler stage of relating to the world: "here I sit and the world is there because of me, for me, and it's all about me."

Perhaps when Christianity grows up it will manage to leave this stage behind. Perhaps.

Well we use that against you a lot, but that isn't what really causes it. The root cause is that science keeps finding things in the Bible that aren't accurate.

What got me was I was in Sunday school about ten and they were going through Genesis and they put plants before the Sun. I had to get a Bible and check that because it was absurd. But that was what it said. That got me thinking and then I actually read the whole thing. The Old Testament was inaccurate, contradictory, and horrible. The New Testament was better, but Jesus never contradicted the old, in fact he reaffirmed the old laws that included stoning and slavery.

All the atheists I know don't care what Christians do or don't do, or whether they follow their religion faithfully. They are simply profoundly uninterested in religion and feel that it is in no way important in their lives. Saying that it's someone's "fault" that an adult person chooses to be an atheist implies that it is neither a valid choice, nor that the person is able to make their own unbiased decision. That's quite condescending and narrowminded a view that atheists would not appreciate.

No, its not the fault of anyone that I am an atheist. I am one because I don't believe in God. I am not mad. I am not saying Christians are bad people. I just don't believe that there is a God. I see the world as being a natural place with natural origins.

This is exactly why I do not call myself a christian. I am catholic by faith and actually find it very interesting. I realize of course, that catholics ARE christian, but I find most Christians to be hypocrites. I believe that when Jesus asked us to love one another as he had loved us, he sadly set upon his believers a task that they were just not up to. They talk about love and forgiveness and hate everyone not like them and consign us to hell. This way of thinking has led more than a few people to become non believers and sick of the whole religious scene. I for one fell sorry for atheists simply because of the lack of a sense of belonging to something much bigger than ourselves. I will remain Catholic and a follower of the teachings of Jesus, but don't call me a christian please!

Nonsense. I wasn't born an atheist and I didn't become an atheist because of peoples actions. I became an atheist because of logic. I began to think for myself. I realized that man creates gods out of fear. It's always been this way. Look at the Egyptians, the Indians, on and on and on. All religion stems from fear. Fear of the unknown. Burden of proof is on the believer and there is no proof there is a god. Meanwhile pastors and preachers exploit this fear and make money off people. I dont' care how many people live for god. Its not going to change my mind because I think outside the box.

No, but that is a goo excuse though if that is the case.
Oftentimes I hear from non-believers that they do not believe in Christ because of the hypocrisy of Christians. Some of them do not mind the Shepherd but they do not like the cheep.

But I thing that Atheists are more intelligent than that. They have made their choice, and we need to respect that. It is our God who gave the free will for all of us. And who are not accountable, God keeps them safe. : )

I made up my own mind after studying the facts so no matter what any Christian says its not going to change that.

However I do think some Christians should look at the way they approach people as they are not doing much for their cause.
