The gospel of mary Magdelene may have come forth several centuries later, but is it possible that it was copied from the original? and preserved from persecution for those that believe?

I'm sure it, other gospels and scrolls were written.

But I'm confident with the canonizing of the books in the Holy Bible.

Latin Vulgate

Wow, this is quite a question! I'll try to answer all of it as best as I can.

You asked if the "gospel" of Mary Magdalene is to be believed. I say no. The main reasons for this are:
1. It was not written by Mary Magdalene.
2. It was not even written by anyone who KNEW Mary.
3. It was written FAR after all of Jesus's initial followers had died. The very EARLIEST it was written was in the third century, so it's still at least 150 years after the last book that was included in the canon (Revelations, circa 95 A.D.).
I did not see the documentary, nor do I need to.

I have mixed feelings about women leading in ministry. On one hand, many women make VERY effective ministers. On the other, it's mostly male-dominated, simply because most women are not called to preach.

As for the idea that women should be silent in church, I've read that entire passage. The whole thing was an outline for how church services should be. People in general should not interrupt the service with outbursts. At that time, because women were seated on one side of the sanctuary, and men on the other, women would sometimes disrupt the service to ask their husbands what something meant.
I agree with it, for the record.

Yes, women are supposed to submit to their husbands. But the Bible also says that men are supposed to love, honor, and respect their wives. Additionally, men are supposed to be willing to sacrifice for their wives, as Christ Himself for the Church.
If the Bible is followed to the letter in this aspect, it makes for a VERY happy marriage.

I am not Mormon, so I can't comment on the rest.

While I was in the Missionary Training Center (the place Mormons go to briefly when they go on their missions) President Thomas S. Monson (he is the first counselor in the presidency of the LDS church) came and spoke to us and told us that the reason women don't hold the priesthood in the church is because they don't need it. to paraphrase what he said men need an extra kick in the pants every so often to keep them as in tune with the spirit as what women are naturally .
While I was on my mission I noticed things that seamed to back that statement up. In a part member family, if the wife was not a member then 9 times out of 10 then he wouldn't be attending church regularly. How ever if the wife was a member and the husband was not then 9 times out of 10 she would still be attending church regularly.

And no I have not heard about The gospel of Mary Magdelene and I have no desire to read it at this time either.

I DO believe it, I don't understand why it is so hard for people to believe Jesus would fall in love with a woman. I mean, logically, He was the perfect man! There are a lot of contradictions in the bible itself. I mean "Thou shalt not commit adultery", and then in one of the first chapters of the old testament, one of the prophets was told to impregnate their maid "Hagar" - and this child is blessed.???? The bible is a collection of many stories in many languages, I do believe there is room for error there.

God's Word does not change just because our society changes.

I Cor.14:34-35 "Let your women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; but they are to be submissive, as the law also says. And if they want to learn something, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is shameful for women to speak in church.'

I Tim.2:12-14 "And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression."

I Cor.11:3 'But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman Is man, and the head of Christ Is God."

These passages give the answer to your question, and the answer is: A woman has no place "in the pulpit and preaching or expounding on the word of God in a mixed audience.'

There are many important responsibilities that women must fulfill (cf I Tim.5:9-10; Phil.4:2-3; Acts 9:36-9; Rom.16:1; Tit.2:4-5). Some of women's responsibilities involve teaching (cf. I Tim.5:2; Tit.2:1-4). However, the woman's teaching is not to be In the public assembly (mixed audience) as the above passages clearly teach. The word translated "teach" in 1 Tim. 2:12 means "to hold discourse with others in order to instruct them, deliver didactic discourses" (Thayer, Greek-English Lexicon of the N.T.).

Because of the demands of Women's Liberation in our society many denominations have installed women in positions for which there is no biblical authority. Men and women are equal in the sight of God. Gods promise of eternal inheritance is the same for both men and women (Gal.3:28; 1 Pet.3:8). However, equality does not negate the fact that God has set forth different roles that must be fulfilled by each. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are equal in power, purpose, and deity. However, each has a different role to fulfill (cf I Cor.11:3). Likewise, men and women are equal in the sight of God, yet He has set forth different roles for each. This is God prerogative. He is Lord and we must submit to His will (Col.3:17). Whether a man or a woman, each has plenty to do in simply fulfilling the responsibilities of the role that God has set forth for each. For one to try to fulfill the role of the other Is not only futile, it is sinful.

Like the gospel of thomas?

It's nonsense. Mary Magdalene was not educated. She wasn't able to write.

And like the gospel of thomas, it includes a lot errant verses like "we should all become men as Jesus was man. So that we may become holier"- WHAT!

So only men are holy?

Too many things like that are found is both of these supposed gospels.

I don't think I looked at it to be honest with you. I find that the 'other' Gospels are typically not too accurate when it comes to agreement with the Bible.

Yes, I believe for this simple reason. It contradicted the testimony of Peter and for this reason, it was left out of the Bible.
