Water pressure of a water fall is used to rotate turbine. Electricity is produced by the generator which is connected to the turbine mechanically. ( Electricity is produced when there is relative motion between soft iron and magnet; both things are in the generator.) Electric motor consumes electricity. To light up 20000watts; you require a generator of 20000*0.75 Horse power.

Electricity can be produced by water flowing through dams. It does this by pulling water in from a river or lake and throwing it through a type of water turbine which then turns generators. A dam can have many tunnels or a few tunnels for water to go in. If more tunnels are open the more electricity the plant can make. Hydroelectricity is a type of direct electricity when it is sent into power lines. - Also, you would need a 46 Horsepower generator to produce 20KW.

if u mean hydro electric power then heres how it works in very simple terms:
water at a high level(from a reservoir or water fall) is made to incident on turbines. The falling water has kinetic energy and when it falls on turbines they are made to rotate. The mechanical energy is then converted to electrical energy with the help of a motor.

Electricity is produced not from water but by using water. It is not produced by only using water, but also by using steam (thermal).Steam is produced by heating the water either by coal or by using atomic energy. To produce electricity you need to rotate the turbine by means of any one of the above.Generator is run by motor in which diesel is used as fuel.I don't want to go further deep, then it will become boring.

Motors don't produce electricity at all, they consume it.
To answer the question you need to specify the type of turbine and generator used along with its efficiency level, there are thousands of designs out there. Everything from flotillas using wave energy, to watermills to hydroelectric dams.

I don,t know a site but a car generator on a wind or water powered wheel is a start. Remember !!!!! water and electricity don't mix.

There are many ways to produce electricity using water.
A water turbine(water wheel) and generator is the most common way.
You need at least 20000+ 5% watt generator, to make sure you have spare capacity.
