Sanding the walls was a good idea that will help immensely but the marks you are seeing is the glue that soaked into the wall from the dado board, get some primer sealer and paint that on first let dry then paint with your color you might have to use a couple extra coats of paint too.

I've had some luck with the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Read the instructions. It doesn' last too long, but works on many marks on the walls and other surfaces.

The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works wonders! As a mother of 3, I keep them on hand all the time! They clean crayon, marker from walls and even my wooden dining table, scuff marks on walls and floors, great for tennis shoes and just about everything! Good luck!

Try using Mr Clean magic eraser. Keep paint handy as it could remove the paint from the wall.

this worked for me- I painted the walls with a washable paint- all you need is soap and water, then I keep the paint handy at all times to do touch ups before I have company. I kept the paint under my kitchen sink, and had a little brush in the junk drawer.

a solution of t.s.p. & water (trisodium phosphate) works great. it's an industrial cleaner you can find in any paint department. I always use it for washing walls. be sure to buy rubber gloves.
As for the magic eraser--it contains carcinogens (formeldahyde). the company says it's just a trace amount however, it's still in it & it's still cancer causing so if you have kids or pets, you really should think twice about using it

try a mr. clean magic eraser. if the wall paint is a flat finish, you may have to touch up the paint.

It depends what paint was used. If it was Vinyl Matt - repaint over, if it was Vinyl Soft Sheen - wipe clen with Jiff, and the same with Vinyl Silk.
Have fun
