Not every child needs a security object. I just means he feels secure with his surrounding and you should be proud of that.

Some children do not need an item for security. They just feel secure. Other children want something for security. Usually if something tragic has happened or something scary a child looks for comfort in an item. This can happen at any childhood age the common age for children to have a security item is between 3-6 years old but it can happen earlier or later. My children are 12, 8, and 3 and none of them have clung to anything yet. Children who have fears, or another scary situation to a child they may find comfort in an item. I don't believe that it has anything to do with the parents, but the child and their anxiety level, and how they feel when certain circumstances happen. your child may never need a security blanket or item. Here is a website about security blankets you can check out. http://www.psychologytoday.com/articles/pto-20050422-000008.html

My son will be 4 at the end of this month and just got attached to a particular blanket. Not all children need a security object...I never did, but my brother and sister did. It all depends on the child

He might never get into it. Some children never do and are perfectly fine without a comfort object. My daugther started pretty early with favourite toys but she would switch from one to another once in a while. She's not obssessively attached to them for which I'm happy. She's 3 1/2 years now and still likes things done in a certain way which I guess will continue for a while.

Every child is different. I have three children and only my girls had security items. My oldest daughter used to carry around this barbie doll everywhere when she was 6 years old until about age 7. My youngest daughter always likes to carry around her stuffed puppy "Puppers" everywhere she goes including to bed. She started this when she was 3 and still does it. My son, however never had a security item.

My neice and nephew did the blanket thing at about 1. My daughter is 3 and she never got hooked to anything. It is not a bad thing. I had a friend who at 20 was still going to bed with the blanket she had since she was born.

not every kid does the security item thing. my 2 oldest didn't but my youngest has a blanket that he can't sleep or watch cartoons without. I would say if your 2 year old hasn't secured his self to anything by now it's probably not going to happen.

My son was around 6 months old when he began wanting his blankie all the time, but my daughter never had a comfort item at all. Every child is different. I've heard that a child that doesn't have a comfort item has already learned to self sooth and is generally more self reliant and confident. So I wouldn't worry too much.

He might never want a comfort blanket or he probably will do it around 3-4.

I have three kids...my oldest son who is now 6 has just put down his bear. He was soooo tied to it...but my younger two who are 4 and 2 don't have any kind of security thing. Guess it all depends on the child.

my child liked her shoe...a lot. she would refuse to get a new pair. this happened to her at about 1 1/2 years old. my friends daughter carried around a catalog that had a picture of her favorite stuffed animal in it at around the same age. it is possible that your child will not have an item that they always carry around.
