Obviously, many people don't know what beliefs the Jains hold...or even what Jainism is. I don't really know the answer.

In one way, I would think they would oppose it, as the purpose of a life time, is to accumulate Karma and learn to acheive enlightenment. They are probably against ending a life, without giving that soul an opportunity to do this.

On the other hand, they have a very compassionate beliefs, and in the case of an animal who is suffering immensly, they might be okay with easing the pain.

I do hope you find the answer to this question. Not only for your sake, but also because I would like to know.
