continental breakfasts normally consist of fruits, bagels, muffins, juices and coffee. Hot ons are just that, prepared meals...oatmeal, eggs, bacon etc.

Continental is a word hotels use to make a free doughnut and coffee sound fancy. A hot breakfast is the normal plate of eggs meat and potatos.

Continental breakfast is usually coffee/tea and pastries.
Hot breakfast is too vague to answer-depends on the motel/hotel but generally, hot food, which could be anything.
Any establishment will tell you their breakfast menu if you ask.

True Continental Breakfast is only croissants, bread rolls, jam and butter with coffee.
Hot Breakfast, especially English breakfast, is with fruit juice, usually orange, yoghurt, cereal with milk, two eggs in any style, bacon, ham, sausages, grilled tomato, toast, butter and jam, usually strawberry, fresh fruit, tea or coffee.

Continental sucks and shows that your company is too damn cheap to spring for a real breakfast when you're traveling for business. Just bring me a bowl of recalled dog food why don't you?
