"The only way to tell if a teaching was created by the Devil rather than by God, is to see if it has elements like:

-selfish gain, egotistical ventures, money, fame"

But how would you know? You're only going off of what the bible has taught you, and I'm proposing that the bible was actually written by Satan.

"ok, well first satan being the very enemy of God and basically stands for everything against Him, why would he write a book which has turned many people to God? The bible being the best selling book ever written. The bible is not meant for those who dont believe, what would be the point ? its like giving u a road map when your in a totally different country ?"

Again, how do you know? What if, because it was written by Satan, the bible is actually turning people to Satan, and you just can't tell because it's all you've ever known? According to your scriptures, is Satan not that devious?

If your theory is true, it means Jesus was a liar.
Referring to the scriptures, he said "Your word is TRUTH."
Satan is not known for truth.
Why must you see conspiracies everywhere?

Satan is devious yes.

I only know of one thing, that Jesus was a very selfless man.

Theres a lot of contradictory teachings in the Bible but thats because the Bible was written by so many different men, and Jesus was never really around to oversee what they wrote.

But Jesus's persona hasnt changed at all, did you notice?

Eventually, all you really need to be is take the life of a selfless man and live your life accordingly.

This is not only true of Jesus, but of other men as well.

And believe in a single God.

Thats not too hard do and it cant be near evil in any way.

The outcome is that many people who claim that they believe in the bible are not practicing what it preached. They often were the people who caused more conflicts in the world, tried converting other religions by force, and used the followers to achieve their evil goals. Their god should punish them harsher than he punish the non-believers. Their god should give us the signs that his followers are good examples.

Since this all powerful, all benevolent god does not seem to exist, why should we believe in religion. The book was written by people. If believing in the book means believing in god, then not believing in the book is the right choice.

Note, I only say the book was written by people. Devils might not be what they intended to be. Some of the followers might be the devils who misused and misinterpret the book.

very cartesian.

but i don't think satan would encourage people to be kind and generous, as the Bible does. i don't think satan would encourage people to sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins, as the Bible does. i don't think satan could ever even think of the Sermon on the Mount or the Beatitudes, which is one of the central points of the Bible.

i guess in the end you'd have to take a lot of things on faith, too.
