I am looking for a free but effective anti virus software for my PC. Searched a lot but most of what was available is not good enough to compare with McAfee or Norton. Cheap options also welcome.

AVG is the number one rated free anti-virus today. Its even rated better than some that you have to pay for.

ok' Now for the reality. there is not any such element as a "best loose AV" All loose AV's have there protection holes. even as it is composed of loose AV's there all turds. What you may do is %. the single which stinks the least. AVG, No root kit protection, won't be able to remove 1/2 of what it reveals, valueless junk. Avast, No heuristic scanning contained in the loose version except for digital mail. You visit an internet site that's contaminated with that sort virus it gained't detect it or remove it. there are one of those viruses that i in my opinion considered Avast unable to remove. Avira, Has complications updating. It also has problems with faults positives. The time for a fantastic AV is before your laptop receives contaminated. a lot of folk on the following will allow you to know that the interest of a fantastic AV is to freshen up later on. it truly is something that i found to be a lie. a fantastic AV will keep it from taking position. the in simple terms one I really have considered so a concepts that works that way is Kaspersky. in case your laptop is sparkling it is going to stay sparkling with Kaspersky on watch. you could receive all that loose junk in case you want and be conscious if it is going to sparkling it off. yet there is in simple terms one AV correct this second which will keep it sparkling. Kaspersky. (EDIT) the single less than me has no idea what there speaking about. via the time you purchased any loose AV, Then a loose firewall you'll use more advantageous reminiscence then a all in a unmarried could use. it really is elementary expertise that AVG & Avast with a loose firewall will use more advantageous reminiscence. yet another really a style of lies i replaced into telling you about. loose AV's and firewalls use more advantageous reminiscence. it really is the reality. anybody who says they don't are both mendacity or don't know what there speaking about.

Avast is the best. You get complete home edition for free! Have been using from last 6 months and not seeing any issues.

Along with antivirus software you must also have a malware/spyware cleaner (because you are using Internet). My suggstion is X-Cleaner.

You must also clean your tracks after using your system. My suggestion is C-Cleaner.
