I have started to paint and cant decide if should I do the tub too. Its hard to imagine a tub I have seen white for so long have a color. Would painting it make the room look bigger or smaller. Of course, I want a larger appearance.

It dosnt need glazing or enamel. I mean the outside wall of the tub. It's an old fashioned free standing tub. I want to know if i paint it, would it bee too much or would it compliment the bathroom.

I never hear anyone want to do that before. Now I hear everything in Yahoo Answers. No!!! don't do it, you will completely ruin your tub and will make it look very cheap. The color will fade away or peel off in some part. You will regret that you ever do it the first place, and it will be a mess to re-do it. Save yourself from boring and try to find something to do-go to the beach or go shopping. Nice out right now. Have yourself a good day, and come home to soak yourself in a nice white tub.

You can't paint a tub. It is porcelain glazed and it will just roll off and make a big mess. You can have it professionaly reglazed for around $200-$250.

As long as you paint the walls a light color it will look good, not much you can do to make the room look bigger.

i think it would be just too much. i would leave it white, because if the outside was a different color and the inside was white that might look funny. i would also think that the paint would chip easy on a tub..

good luck, you could go to lowes or home depot and ask the professional

You just don't paint a tub....you re-enamel or buy a color you like.

the only thing you should paint your tub with is an epoxy especially made for tub and tile, its a very delicate job, lots of prep work, if not prepped correctly you will have a bigger mess later.

To change the color of your tub you really need someone who can re enamel it unless it is fiberglass then you need to purchase anothe one in another color.
