Oh, jarvy such poor argument!!!!!! Look at the animal world. do they go round killing each other all the time? no because it makes no sense, on a survival level.
and we can appreciate beauty...that is in no way proof of the existence of god, just proof that there are some very talented people out there.

"I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing."
"But," says Man, "the Babel fish is a dead giveaway isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves that You exist, and so therefore, by Your own arguments, You don't. Q.E.D."
"Oh dear," says God, "I hadn't thought of that," and promptly vanishes in a puff of logic.
"Oh, that was easy," says Man, and for an encore goes on to prove that black is white and gets himself killed on the next zebra crossing.

To answer this question, you must first understand the nature of belief:Belief, by our definitions, is the assurance that a matter, in reality, is one and not another, or none.
And faith:Faith, by our definitions, is the belief that somewhere(Far or Near) or sometime(Then, Now or in the Future), a matter is better than in the present.
Clearely, then, faith in god is the belief that god is something good.
From here we can surely understand that belief in god is the assurance that god is real.
But, as belief is the assurance of reality, and assurance can only be self-defined, we can truthfuly say that god, by definition, is then true to each person, and is not an ultimate truth.
As to relieve any myst from the matter:As long as one believes in a god, that god is real for him, and a faith in that god is justified.
Everyone has a choise weather to believe or not, and as such everyone has a choise weather his god will be real or not.
I, for one, have not the need for a god, and therefore do not aknowlege him, for me.
Another being may need god to have faith, and as such he aknowleges god.
It's quite simple, really.

You can't argue against any more than you can argue for, there are some things that can be outside of any real analysis.
However, to me that's reason enough. To disprove the existence of any god is theoretically impossible, but technically the same could be said for any mythical figure. It just doesn't make sense to put so much stock on anything without real proof.
Or certainly one shouldn't expect the ultimatum that we must believe or go to hell. That's complete nonsense and makes God sound unreasonable. It just sounds so made up by conniving men to control and intimidate weaker people. If God really existed, why would it be so important for all the attention? Why is God so needy? Does he lack self-esteem?
Or if God exists, maybe God's just a big jerk...

the creation of the entire universe is truly amazing!the galaxy w/c include100 billion of stars is located and estimate by the astronomy's that there are 100 billion of such galaxies can be found in the universe.the planet earth, the only planet w/c has right distance from the sun for human life, and the atmosphere w/c found only around the earth w/c made up of the right proportion of gasses to sustain life.would you believe that all of these existed without creator who created all things?impossible, right?the bible says in Hebrew 3:4-every house is constructed by someone, but he that constructed all things is God.Isaiah 42:5-the true God Jehovah, the creator of the heavens, the Grand one stretching them out.

there is no point anyone who is a believer answering this question since this person is obviously a non believer who probably wont consider any evidence other than that which he wants to believe.i suggest he reads the god delusion by richard dawkins who is an ardent atheist.i myself am a believer having once been an atheist - it just seems more reasonable to me that the order and beauty we see on earth and in the universe was designed and created rather than came about by a million fortuitous accidents.why are people so close minded ? it seems to me that atheists can be just as aggressively dogmatic as can religious fundamentalists! i suggest we all keep an open mind - open , frank and peaceful discussion is more useful than finger pointing and point making.

What is the best argument for the existence of God?
If you don't believe in something why argue about it.
Would you argue with someone about the existence of leprechauns? I don't think so.
By your question I'm not sure whether you believe in the existence of God or not, but either way the idea of God must be on your mind or you wouldn't ask the question in the first place.

There is no credible evidence for the existence of a god or gods. Therefore the default position is that one does not exist. If sound evidence were to be found then one could reasonably argue in favor of existence.

Depends on which God.

Any omnipresent cannot exist if you cannot find evidence for it in any given spot. If there is no evidence under your keyboard then an omnipresent god doesn't exist.

Each god has distinct characteristics and needs to be addressed differently.

everything the bible said would happen is happening NOW.all planned.how is it when people come to know god, they feel a connection, they no longer want the world....
only god can give satisfaction and it never gets old.like a book, song, you get tired of it.know god and you never thirst again.I was always questioning it,naturally, but when you come to it and learn,it is good.
compare the anger of a non believer and peace of christian.I am not judging, touchy subject.obviuosly this is not what you were looking,I read your q again.

You'll know... when He touches you... as indeed He surely will, one day...

Your incessant need to question, mock, abuse, and revile God... tells Him and thos ewho love Him... that you, are lost and drawn towards Him... WHY ELSE, would you need to question someone, or something, that according to you, isn't even there? Bit of a time waster that, ennit?

I don't ever need to question things, that don't exist inside my life... since I'm far too busy with the stuff that does:-)

And that you have a problem with that question... and even need to ask it, ever, well...one day I promise you, you can tell Him that He doesn't exist face to face... and that He isn't there at all:-)

And when I see your surprise on waking in His presence... from the moment you pass over... I'll NOT ridicule, or laugh, or say I told you so... I'll rejoice for you... and with you!

I can tell you this without a shaow of a doubt... that I would have been a far better sceptic, a seriously damning one... a trouble making one, with word power that could have seriously made waves against the existence of a diety, a nasty poblem, like the world has never seen. I'd have been the sceptic to end all scepticism... and better at it than all of you put together in this thread... I promise you I would... because my stubborn natures tells me this...

But I'm a DEVOUT ACCEPTOR (believer is too weak) of God's serious existence.

Because, unwanted, unexpected, and unasked... He seriously made Himself known inside my life when i was but a child and far too young to be indoctrinated... and living in a home full of atheists... and He never went away... across all my 62 years... and... d'ya know what?

Nothing... absolutely nothing... that can you say or do... can change the FACTS of the PROOF I've had, and have daily, and the proof that I know without a doubt, you too will have eventually... it's a one to one experience kids... just like your experience with your parents and your own kids... though you love them all... yet you relate and share with each and every one of them on an individual level... and they also doubt your love at times. And they deny you too... shut you out... because they want constant proof you love them.

You'd have been better off asking, "What is love... can we explain it... can we explain the many different facets of it... can we explain it's pain... its joy... its unflinching loyalty... even unto death?"

Because my friends... That's exactly what God is... what He made us with... God is LOVE!

AND... I'LL LOVE HIM TO THE END OF TIME:-)

So do us all a favour here... and take the enormous chips of scepticism from off your shoulders, just long enough, to look beyond it, beyond what you consider 'proof'!

These questions always challenging believers, and these attacks on God... are telling me and Him... and all who love Him... one thing only... that you NEED Him... WANT Him... and resent, anyone who says they know HIM... because you're blinkered view, is blocking your connection to the TRUTH... Him... and so, the best form of defence against the TRUTH for you, against feelings of isolation and being left out, is to go out on the attack... and hit at those whom you think, believe themselves above, or better, or more special than you are (which we don't) because, of your own insecurities!

God Bless...
