And please do not give me the "they attack us" routine. Christians are wise to know who to speak to about God and who is not ready to receive...so why do atheists have a defensive mindset?

I feel the need to apologize to those of you who have encountered a person doing Christianity instead of living it...that is why they talk so much about God to you - they are trying to do christianity their way but that is not God's way. Jesus should be reflected in a Christians life and does not need to be crammed down someone's throat or knocking on someone's door. We are the salt of the earth - means we make others thirsty for what we have - God. True Christianity is a lifestyle built on a relationship with God not memorization of His words. We can not change people...that is God's job. Christians can lead others to Christ by example just as Jesus did...He is our standard to follow. Again, I am sorry for your bad experience with Christianity.

Because we scare them. Even Demons know the word of God so even those who swear there is no God their soul their spirit longs to be with Him. So they must fight a constant battle within to believe what they believe. I used to be one of them. I thought Christian were ignorant and and naive. They freaked me out! But I had NEVER known peace true peace until I came to the realization that He is real and loves me. Atheists feel condemned and assume it is because of us. The reality is they are condemning themselves because of the war inside them. I am with you I would NEVER condem them I love them they are who I was. It is not a lost cause they are searching just like we are they are just in a deeper form of denial!

You speak like no one ever had their door knocked on by a Thumper, or had a conversation interrupted by a religious argument. Of course some Christians "attack". Here's why.

To give it all to Jesus is to give up your "earthly ways". So doing things on Earth becomes less important.

However, God will call a Christian on HIS time. Until then, all Christians are stewards of the Earth. And believe me, it's in need of some serious stewardship.

Christian people who have given up their life for Jesus do not bond with other Earth humans like they used to. Their urgency to master social skills is lessened because the true journey is set. Ergo, they argue when someone tends to threaten that process. That will always be true to a certain extent.

Your question is quite perceptive. I have just answered a similar one at length so I won't repeat what I said there, but rather approach the issue from a different angle. You have worded the question insightfully, because the Christian haters on Yahoo Answers do seem to feel a need to mock, and ridicule Christianity in the rudest and most juvenile ways I have ever seen. Furthermore they have an obsession with Christianity. They simply cannot drop things and leave Christians alone. It is not as though real Christians are obsessing with being rude to them (there are some obviously phony "Christians" on Yahoo Answers saying rude things to discredit Christianity). People do have a right to disagree with Christianity and to express their difference of opinion regarding what Christians consider moral standards. Those who act up on Yahoo Answers go far beyond this, however. They claim to be against "hatred" (our beliefs regarding right and wrong) yet they despise us with utter, unabashed, hatred. It simply is not hatred for us to love them enough to dedicate our lives for their eternal good. In return they obsessively deride us and us alone. I think they would not do this if they felt secure in their beliefs. There is so much more to say, but space will not allow. I suspect the people who spew such repeated hostility and adolescent ridicule are people who feel convicted by God's Spirit and are fighting that with every inch of their being. They despise Christianity and not other religions because they suspect it is true and they desperately don't want it to be (if only they knew the wonderful relationship with Christ they are missing). I must admit I was once as rude and childish as they are as I attacked Christianity, however, so I can't judge them. God bless them all.

Why Atheists have a tendency to attack & make different christians sense undesirable? ---i don't comprehend why the atheists make the different Christians sense undesirable. i wager the atheists merely are not the nicest style of Christian. I recommend, maximum Christians are extremely effective notwithstanding the atheist Christians, properly, they're exceedingly recommend from time to time. Yeah, it sucks. I surely do no longer comprehend why Atheists have a tendency to attack Christians merely because of their faith. you're saying that Christianity has no evidence God exists, yet neither you atheists have evidence atheism is %one hundred precise and maximum perfect. ---God capital G ? the guy who's 'all-powerful and loves us' ? properly, I do have distinctive evidence that there is noone and in no way some thing who/it extremely is all-powerful and loves us. The evidence for it is exceedingly a lot all human suffering. each and every little bit of it. in case you awaken lower than refreshed or in case you stub your toe it exceedingly a lot disproves the life of an 'all-powerful entity who loves us'. As for merely 'any previous god', yeah, on the grounds that 'god' is so vaguely defined and on the grounds that there are 1000's of them, I gained't say that 'no god exists'. i am going to assert that i don't have self assurance in any of the gods until eventually there is a few evidence or a minimum of strong evidence. and that is between the definitions of 'atheism'. As for Christians taking offense, hi, you are able to take offense all you want. from time to time, each and every once in a lengthy time period, you even make some strong factors. from time to time, each and every once in awhile, I even disagree with lots of the atheists.

I'm not an atheist but I'm an ex Christian.

Why do Christians feel the need to attack gays, as just one example? Is it because they believe that gays secretly have more fun than they do, and they're jealous? If that argument sounds silly to you, then you have an idea how silly the same argument sounds to athiests.

Part of being a Christian is a desire, need or belief that you are persecuted, when in fact it's the Christians who persecute non-Christians.

As the expression goes, "I know you're a Christian, but what are you Christian against?"

Why do Christians feel the need to pound on our doors at 9am, or drop propaganda leaflets every-frickin-where? Yes, Christians are always looking for someone ready to "receive". There's Buddha, Ganesha, Allah, the Diabatsu and a blue million others, yet there is only one group who feels the need to change everybody else. Maybe everyone wants to be left alone. BTW, I'm not Atheist, but I support their right to be so.

Being born and raised Catholic, Christianity exemplifies the biblical phrase "worrying about the splinter in my eye while ignoring the log in your own eye." or something like that.
They find fault with everybody and everthing while whitewashing or double-talking their way out of their own many faults.
Christians have placed themselves on such a high pedistal that if you told them the truth and said "yes ! Your **** DOES
stink!", their loftiness doen't allow them to believe this so
they say you're attacking and persecuting them.
Oh yeah, that self made pedistal reminds me of another
biblical phrase. "How the mighty has fallen".

Sorry, you're wrong. If that was true they would know not to try to talk me into their religion.
