You should call the doctor immediatly, he will tell you exactly what to do. I'd suggest making him vomit all the toxins and give him a cup of warm milk to drink, it has a soothing effect on the stomach.

There should be a number to the poison control center on one of the household cleaning products around the house. Get the number off there and call them and they will advise you. Besides, what size was the bowl? You may want to figure that out and tell them that as well.

This could be a true emergency. Call poison control, 911, or go directly to the ER.

Sodium hydroxide can cause burns to the mouth, esophagus, and stomach. The damage will depend on concentration and amount ingested.

I hope all goes well.

My toothbrush is kept in my medicine cabinet which unfortunately is not six feet from my toilet. I do run it under hot water before brushing my teeth and replace it with a new one at least once a month.
