You are obviously feeling afraid if you think you need to be put in 24 hour care for a while. If it is that serious then you need to go back to your doctor and tell him you really need the help. If you are thinking of harming yourself then tell your doctor this. Depression can be very serious indeed and sometimes when we are in the pits of despair we usually do feel "crazy" Can I also say, that drinking too much does not help a person with depression. I think you need more than just help with your depression, but also with your alcoholism. It's a hard thing to confess that you are an alcoholic, but if you arent now, you are quickly becoming one. Maybe instead of thinking you need to be in a 24 hour facility for depression, you could be thinking about putting yourself into a long term rehabiliation centre. You will get all the professional help you need. People drink for a reason and it is the reason these people will concentrate on and work through with you that will get your depression under control as well as getting your drinking under control. Your alcoholism is being fed by your depression and your depression is being fed by your drinking. If you confont your alcohol problem, your depression will be helped. You are very fragile at the moment and I trully think a live-in rehab is what you are needing. You need tons of support and you will get it in there. You will meet people your own age who have similar problems, so you would not only be getting professional intervention, it is also an opportunity for you to make friends.

I have read a few of your questions, and you are really in trouble arent you? Nothing is getting better, so maybe its time you realised these short term remedies are not working for you. Maybe its time you did something really positive for yourself and admit that you NEED to be in rehab. Your life is in turmoil and you are the only one who can do anything about it. You haven gotten yourself into a lifestyle where you are self medicating, eg, using alcohol as a crutch to get you out of it so you dont have to think...well not for a little while anyway. You have to learn new ways to cope because, while alcohol may dull your brain and your pain, it is only short lived, and you wake up the next morning feeling even more depressed...so the cycle continues. Its this cycle that needs to be stopped and a rehab will give you alternative, better ways to cope. Put your hand up for REAL help. I think its a rehab that is going to do you the world of good.

You are playing with the rest of your life.....if you dont start doing things to get it in check now, the problem will continue and you wont get any relief for years to come. Your depression will lift if you get help for your alcoholism. Be strong, do something sensible for yourself and get this problem sorted out for good this time.

I wish you all the best, but you really do have to take yourself in hand because you are on a self destructive kick and if youre not careful you wont be around to even get the help you need because your depression which is fueled by the alcohol will end up destroying you.

Be strong, take steps to fix this problem....you can do it.
