I am a content Muslim woman. I believe in my religion because i have studied my religion and understood it, not followed it because someone forced me to.

I believe it because i have witnessed many miracles from Allah (swt), although for you to understand them completely you would have to have been through it.

My religion teaches the existence of one God. I choose to believe in the Oneness of God because it is the only way that makes sense to me. If there were more than the one God there would be confusion in the universe. God must be All Mighty, All Wise and All Powerful to be God, because why should we put our full trust in a being that is without even one of these attributes?
So, if there were more gods these attributes would no longer be 'All', but shared. How can a God have faults?

Another aspect in Islam is the concept of prophethood. As Muslims we believe that messengers were sent down to guide human beings on the true and right path. This also makes sense because why would a Loving and Just God leave His creation without guiders or warners? Therefore, men were sent with the message of One God to the people in order to lead them in the straight path.

We believe in the Qur'an as the Word of God. The Qur'an, which has been widely agreed is still in its original form, contains many miracles which only help to prove its Holiness. For example, in the Qur'an the stages of pregnancy, which could not have been known over 1400 years ago by an illiterate man (Muhammad (saws)), are described. Other miracles include mentions of the form of mountains, the division of sea water, the function of certain brain areas, etc. which have only been discovered recently. Who else would know this except He who created it?

Islamic teachings are practical, all rulings set down to protect five things:
1. The Soul, the religion (e.g. prayer and supplication)
2. The Mind, intellect (e.g. prohibition of alcohol and drugs)
3. The Body, health (e.g. prohibition of smoking, tattooing, suicide)
4. One's Wealth, property (e.g. prohibition of gambling, paying interest, wasteful spending)
5. and One's Progeny, future generations (e.g. prohibition of adultery, relationships outside marriage)

There are restrictions and permissions, all helping us be the best we can be as human beings, and not lower than the animals.

Hope that helps.

Everyone knows that when you get older if you do something wrong that you must pay a price for it. That is why we have tickets, fines, and jail. There is a price to be paid for sin. When we sin against others society gives us one of these judgments. What do we do when we sin against God? A price must be paid. In the Old Testement the killed the perfect lamb as a sacrifice. When Jesus came he went to the cross as a perfect sacrifice. He went into hell so that all who accept him as savior do not have to pay for their sins. Everyone knows that we had a Higher Source that gave us the knowledge between good and evil, created the Ten commandments that the entire world lives by in one way or another, they are the basis of all the laws. NO killing, No stealing, No adultry, etc. So if you do all of these things in your life, who is going to pay the price for the sin if you are not caught and don't repent? You are if you don't know Jesus Christ. There is a book that gives scientific proof that when people die, they have lost all brain function, no signs of any firing of any brain waves, yet they either go to heaven or hell, when they are brought back to life they all have a story. This can not be explained in the Scientific world. Only the Spiritual world. Read Beyond Deaths door. It is an excellent book. Written by a Dr, that was an atheist.

I am a baptist but I try to keep an open mind on others religion and I want to think that you can get to God as long as you believe in him. I mean people in other cultures believe in him, in different ways. You need to follow what is in your heart, not what is in your head. Religion is not all gloom and doom and if you make mistakes, they are to be forgiven. No one is prefect and no one should expect others to be. To each their own. try some different churches out if you are seeking religion. No one should pass judgement on others either. I beleive in God because he has helped me thru some very hard times but I had to ask for his help and pray. You know people present the argument that God let's bad things happen, God gave man free will.

I think that true believers of the Jewish, Muslim, and Christian faith have a path to God, because it says so in the Qu'ran. I also think that people of other religion, who stay true to their beliefs even if it isn't the right religion, still have a path to God.

Am a Christian

And I strongly believe that religion is not a path to God. Religion is only a practice. Love is the only path to God.

If you want no scriptures (i.e no words) its hard. There is nothing more powerful than words.

No, i'm a Catholic and I don't believe we have the only way to God. Why? Religion has to do with people and people aren't perfect, so the way we perceive God isn't perfect.
The best quote I've heard explaining this is "God is a perfect light within a multi- coloured, patterned shade and depending on where you stand you will see different colours, different patterns, but the light within remains the same."
A perfect answer? No, but getting closer I hope.

I don't know that it is the ONLY path to God, but I believe it is the best one.

I don't know that I can give you an answer other than I just believe it is. God, or God's spirit, or whatever, tells me that I am right where He wants me to be.

But, it's not my place to tell you, or anyone, they are going to hell, because (THANK GOD) I don't have to judge that sort of thing. God does. I leave it to His wisdom and mercy.

Faith is hope and trust in the unseen. A person believes in something because he/she must believe in something. A person believes because what he/she believes in is convenient for his/her purposes, or because it is comforting. That which is believed in always comes with promises, be they real or fantasy. Once belief is established, then come faith in the promises to be fulfilled. Faith involves hope in the unseen. Faith exists in the forever present, that is moment by moment, that some future event will be accomplished. This future event represents the completion of faith. I believe that Jesus is the only way to heaven. I believe that the Bible is God's holy word. Therefore, I believe in the promises of the Bible and that they will all be fulfilled in Jesus Christ. I believe that if I follow Christ that I will reside in heaven for all eternity. This is my faith. I believe that my faith will be completed in Christ. Neither you nor anyone else can convince me that I am wrong. People will believe what they want to believe regardless of what 'facts' you may present to them. A person who has no faith in something is utterly hopeless and suicidal. He/she is a ship without a rudder, floating about without a compass and headed nowhere because he/she has no captain. Jesus is my rudder, my compass and my captain. Without Christ I can do nothing. If I try to do anything on my own strength, then I will fail miserably----my past has proven this to be correct. If a person's past is of any use to them it is to show them how helpless and hopeless they are without faith grounded in solid belief. If something other than Christianity works for you, then who am I to bend your thumb and try to force you to change? I cannot force anyone to do anything that they do not want to do. All i can do is present to you my belief system and pray that you will see things my way.
