Personally, I'm a huge fan. I know there are some extremists who say it's banned, but there is no support that is credible for this. I do my prayers on time and do my best to be good in life, which is what matters most. So what do you here in the R and S section feel about music? I personally like Beyonce, Destiny's Child, and the older stuff like Janet Jackson and Phil Collins (yeah yeah, I know). I'm also a huge fan of sappy love songs (Deliiiiiilah). What is your favorite music to listen to and why?

I believe music is expression of the soul and spirit.. any type of music can be spiritual.
I listen to everything from classical music to rap, country to r&b and everything in between.
It depends on the mood I'm in.

In my belief system, we are big on music and singing.. we sing our own personal song and we sing our spirits to the otherworld.

Btw, I ADORE your new Avatar!

I'm a musical omnivore: I listen to just about everything, with some preferences. I DO know what "good" music is, being a musician myself.
I'm a baroque-trained violist, and as such I play primarily religious music, since secular music didn't really come about until the Rennaissance. I'm not a religious person, myself, but I have some rather lofty moral values. I don't see how the two are often viewed as contradictory.
As to what I listen to, I love the Baroque and Romantic composers (Beethoven makes me go *squish*), but that's hardly all.
I'm an 80s child, and thus proud of the... interesting musical heritage that comes with that. All the songs I grew up with are still things that I listen to. They remind me of childhood and all the memories that went with the songs.
As to what I found for myself, I discovered punk-metal, I suppose. I started listening to AFI waaaay back when that was what they were labeled, rather than that annoying word "emo" (how is it that that is an insult?). Something about the raw quality of the "primal noises" they made stuck a chord with me when I was a newly-minted teenager. Music to thrash and chant to. Anyone who has ever been to one of their concerts would understand the way the music effects a mass of oxygen-deprived teens, punks, and metalheads.
Of late, as I've (hopefully) matured (a bit), I've found my tastes spreading further, as well as a deepening appreciation. I'd never gotten goosebumps listening to music until recently, but now my emotions really move with it. Music is a huge part of my life, a soundtrack, if you will...

I hope this made sense... it's an *unholy* hour, y'know...
There's a reason normal people sleep at 3:30 am...

I especially enjoy classical (especially from the Baroque period, like Vivaldi and Bach), opera (Offenbach!), and metal, especially like Nightwish, Within Temptation, Epica, Kamelot, Iced Earth, and Lacuna Coil.
I also listen to a lot of Christian music.

Why? I don't know, I just think it's beautiful. It inspires me. No other music can do that for me, except for what I mostly listen to.

Just about any kind of music. Music makes this world bearable. If I didn't have my piano, I think I'd go crazy. I didn't have one for many years, and I SURELY did miss it! And (THANK GOD) I have passed this on to my daughter, who is, I think and have been told by others, musically gifted.

BTW, I love Deliiiiiiilah, too!

True music comes from the Soul and the Heart...
like when Jimi Hendrix played.

Here's what you can do to make music with Our Creator:

Create a private, personal, direct, divine Relationship with Our Creator and save your Soul from religion.

Only with Our Creator's Love and Peace will we be Truly Free!

Love and Believe in Our Creator;
Love and Believe in Yourself.

"religion is Spiritual fraud"; "religion is the Worse invention of humanity" - Jesus Christ, Buddha and any other being with Spiritual intelligence.

Without God, there is No Love; Without religion, there are No Wars!
