It depends on the store owner for the most part. Most countries do not require a business to be closed on Good Friday. Some countries have widespread business closings while others do not. Also some countries, although they don't generally close businesses, have areas where all businesses are closed. The US is a perfect example of this.

everything here in napa wine country is open normal business hours for a friday business day. some corporate offices are closed, but not normal stores like the mall, etc.

easter is usually has a bunch of stuff closed like on Christmas and New Year's.
