You will loose weight if you do not eat for 10 days but unfortunatly as soon as you start eating again the weight will come back. Your best bet is to eat fewer calories and make sure that you excersise everyday (till your huffing and puffing) If you have six very small meals during the day it should stop your food cravings and enable you to lose weight easier so your not binge eating. Good Luck

the BMI was not intended to be used as a method of rating the current health status. it's sole purpose is to address the health risks that are associated with central obesity, that's it...decreasing the total body weight and decreasing the BMI does not mean you are more healthier. the BMI is also not an indicator for having low body fat. the body composition is not taken into account with the BMI. you can have a low BMI and have a very high amount of body fat.
by fasting and starving the body you are slowing down the metabolic rate to a point where fat loss is completed halted, all excess glucose is metabolized in the muscle cell and lean muscle mass is sacrificed for energy at an increased rate. a short term fast will result in nothing but the loss of water as muscle glycogen stores are depleted. long term fasting will result in a higher percentage of body fat, not lower. fasting is the exact opposite of what is needed to increase the metabolic rate which increases fat loss

I have always heard that fasting will Drop the weight but also put your body into starvation mode which will lower your metabolism! When you start to eat again you will gain even more weight back. To lose fat you have to eat! You need to raise your metabolism not slow it down. The best diet I have ever been on is the ZONE by Dr Barry Sears. You eat more that you thought possible but by eating the right foods in the right combinations the fat just melts off and you feel like you are on speed with all the energy you have and best of all it is something you can stick to!!!!!

Doing a water fast for more than 3 days can cause serious health problems. Most likely, you'll pass out on day three.
It's silly that you want to be underweight. Exercise if you want to get rid of the "excess fat". Tone your body, don't kill it.
If you do a 10 day water fast, even a five day water fast, your kidneys will shut down. Your metabolism will slow to almost nothing. You won't be able to move because calories are energy. You will gain every bit of that weight back after you eat something, most likely in a hospital.
Here's the truth: Starving yourself for that long will hurt you for the rest of your life. I don't mean to scare you, but I know the facts. I went through anorexia for about two years before getting help, and relapsed into bulimia a month later. I still am bulimic, because I refuse help. I'm 15 years old and I'm going to have osteoperosis before I'm 35.
If you want to kill yourself, go ahead and do something as drastic as a 10 day fast. Don't think it won't happen to you, because it can happen to anybody and everybody.
If you want to lose weight, do it a healthy way. The weight you'll lose on the fast is water weight, and it will come back very quickly.
Tone your body. Eat healthily. There are so many good exercises out there that can get you in shape really fast. They truly do work, too.
Please, don't harm your body that way. Even doing something as a 10 day water fast, only ONCE, only for TEN DAYS can have serious, serious, serious effects.

It will do nothing. You don't really have the excess tissue you can lose. IMO best to eat normally and add some mild, long term excercise. If hips/ thighs/ buttocks are your problem, then leg excercises are best- I would recommend roller skating- fun and excercises EXACTLY what you most want. You most likely will not lose weight, but exchange the fat tissue for muscles- leaner and stronger.
Starvation just makes you into a skeleton- and I bet the "saddlebags" will be the last to go!

Wrong. Thats the kind of diet that only hurts you and doesnt do anything. To loose body fat you don't stop eating. What that does is mess with your system so when you return to eating normal you'll gain alllllll the weight back and then some. Also to really loose body fat you have to eat a heatlhy balanced diet and run alot. Running is key, or cardio period.

I tried crash dieting and fasting and unfortuneately I lost minimal weight but I became quite moody and depressed due to the lack of nutrients in my diet. I lost more weight when I ate normally, at around 800-1000 calories a day. It took me less time too!

Plain and simple, NO you will need to go a lot longer, but would need to have drinks. To loose fat and to keep it off you need to train your body to expect less food, so you eat less, you must eat but much smaller quantities, and some light exesise like walking. You need to make your body use up the stored fat that you have so you eat less so that your body has to draw on the stored fat. this is the sure way to loose fat and keep it off. Hope this has been some help.

Lying in bed asleep your body craves energy to run your vital organs, re-generate skin, grow fingernails and hair, breathing, pumping blood.... you use energy which comes from food, not from water. Ghandi knew this fact.
When your body wants energy it will take it by metabolising food in your stomach and converting it to the energy types that it needs for the work it is doing. Your body looks to your stomach for nourishment, first.
When your food source is depleted, your body looks to convert unused muscle tissue... because it is easier to metabolise muscle than it is to metabolise fat. It will start depleting muscle fibre and fat storage, if you have nothing in your stomach.
Your BMI is just a useful guide to health.... not a rule to good health.
A more useful guide is to measure your total % body fat.... I have found one web site which helps calculate this. There are others.

You will loose you muscle by fasting which is not healthy. To burn fat you need to exercise and eat sensibly.
There are many alternatives available to fasting.
zero calorie diet may be bit sensible than fasting.
