It seems a lot of people answering this really don't like Christians. I am a christian and I'm not sure why these things happen. The whole rape and murder is because we have free will. Why do you lie to people. Why do you curse. Their are bad people out there who do bad things. God gives us the choice. You can enslave a civilization or free one. Why is it that when people ask these questions they only see the negative side of God. Who was the first group of people to help the victims of Katrina. You would read articles every day about churches all over the US opening their doors by housing the victims and sending money, food, even people to help rebuild. It's hard to understand where that type of love comes from until you are a christian. Would you rather God take away your free will so we can't make poor decisions anymore. Or do you like having the right to choose. I believe in God because he has done wonders in my life. I'm sure everyone has there own reason.

Here we go. Blame God for everything. He's just going to step in and make everything better! When will you people learn? Have you ever heard of "free will"? God doesn't allow anything. WE DO!!!!! God doesn't step in and change us because we have to change ourselves!!! Natural disasters are part of the planet we live on. If we choose to screw up the atmosphere and cause global warming and stuff like Katrina, that was our choice. But out of the disaster comes compassion. My nephew spent a couple of weeks down there just last month because he chose to. He helped to rebuild a home that was destroyed. What was his reward? Satisfaction, a great southern BBQ and an infection from the mold down there! Gee. Maybe God should have protected him from the mold. It doesn't work like that. The Bible clearly states that you will not be pushed beyond what you can stand if you have faith. You can loose everything material, but if you loose your faith you have lost everything.

-free will.
-cause and effect.

Erase the notion of "good" and "bad". They keep you in constant decay and condition your mind to stay with the outwardly world you perceive as the reality instead of the subtle truth within.

God does exist. But not in the way that most of the world deems it. God is everything, and yet nothing.

Original sin?
Sin?
No sin, just experience. Cause and effect. Reaction or no reaction.

In the center of misery and desire is where you find the force you call "God". Or perhaps enlightenment.

YOU are both the orchestrator and the player in the eternal moment of now. YOU are me, I am you.

I do believe in Jesus Christ. I personally believe that if a person said I believe and that allow them to avoid the horrors of this life (not just the points you made, but also cancer and other tragedies), we would all toe the line, just to avoid the horrors.

Just as if he punished the evil today; they would stop being evil.

There will be a final judgement; the wicked will pay. And the innocents will be exalted. All will be made right, but in the Lord's time, not our time.

there is no god

just like there is no Zeus

there is no Shiva

etc...

It is all a bunch of mythology. I hope one day that humanity will realize that.

god/gods were created because humanity doesnt like the thought of being here all alone and that we will probably never find out the origin or nature of existence

if god can do anything, why not help starving children? if he knows everything that will happen, why did he even create the starving children in the first place?

I understand your logic and it makes no sense. If God involved Himself in this world as to prevent all harm then He would have to control every aspect of this life...EVERYTHING! You wouldn't be you...you would be a pre-programmed robot. What would happiness be without sadness to contrast it?
When Jesus wandered in the wilderness for 40 days and nights...He was tempted by Satan. Satan offered Jesus the world and everything in the world. Jesus didn't tell Satan..."Hey, this world is not yours to give away!" Jesus rebuked Satan and ordered him away.. Truth is that this world and all the crap in it is Satans. Jesus said, "I am not of this world......!"

Good question, and to which the fundies have no sensible answer.
I hear Anger in your question -- this I understand: there are probably many of us here that understand.
Forgive me if I appear patronising, we are all equal and should hang together or we will hang separately.

He revealed Himself to me when I told Him that I believed in His Son, Jesus.

What now? What are you going to do with that? Maybe I'm just a nut who thinks he knows God, or maybe I'm kidding. Or maybe I'm telling you the truth. Whatever.

Why blame God. What's it going to get you? Okay, so if you want to be angry with God and blame Him for everything, what good does it do? How are you getting anything out of it?

you are ABSOLUTELY right.

i don't understand why others cultivate the belief in God.
they don't even believe in themselves and others. And they are preaching about God. what is this world coming to?

Those who believe in ABSURDITIES commit ATROCITIES. why must they create all these craps and bulls when they don't even know how to treasure and protect lives?
Brother, we must put these unscrupulous acts to a stop. i personally cannot endure such childish nonsense. i've added you to my contact. email me, brother.
