I know i'm supposed to believe every word of the Bible. I'm just curious, if people know that the Bible was transcribed by man, doesn't that mean the Bible is flawed? It may be God's words, but if it was written by man, shouldn't it be considered a product of man and therefore somewhat a product of sin?

Considering the blatant favoring of the male sex in the text, as well as other preferences, isn't it possible that perhaps not everything in the Bible is from God?

I'm asking because recently i felt it's almost impossible to follow the Bible completely without forgetting something, and thus not knowing when or how one has sinned. Is it really reasonable to ask a Christian child to know all that he/she should or should not do?

There are words in the bible which are not the words of God but the words of Satan when the said satan was speaking to God in the book of Job. Do not follow the word of satan. and on the Old testament there are words and stories about men who were doing bad things but God have punished them.

In your contention that the bible was transcribe by man. no. It was written by the prophecy of men through God.
neither the bible is not a flaw but a very favorable book to the believers of God.The bible is not a product of man as well as product of sin, because it was written by the prophecy of men through God.

You should think and consider that when you studied from school and have known everything what is good and what is bad and what is science, a book was used as your guide to believe and know the contents of that book. And who wrote that book as your guide and have believe it. It was written by a man of intellect, do you consider it as a product of man's mind and somewhat a product of sin?

And why do you consider that the male sex is blatant or in simple word offensive conspiciously? It is a part of the body of a man to prove his gender.

If you have faith in God, you must follow the teachings of God in the bible, you must obey His law, His orders, His commandments. and do not forget God who created you. If you will only read and tend to understand the bible, you will know when and how you committed sin. Of course, you should teach a child to do what is good and not to do what is bad, The child need your correct guidance because the child is still learning to know what is right and what is wrong. okay?

Though the Bible appears to have been written by man, the truth of the matter is that the Bible was merely written through man. God used men to get his Word on paper. It blew Moses' mind when God wrote the Ten Commandments in front of him. Just think if God wrote an entire book.
I don't disagree with you that men are fallible. The people God spoke through were obedient followers of Him and you can rest assured that God wouldn't allow His Word to be misrepresented by them.
I have lived life doing things my way and doing what the Bible says and let me tell you, the Bible is the way to go. There is soooo much peace when you follow the Word it is unreal. It is a peace that passes all understanding.

Read John 3 : 16. That is how you are a Christian, not by being a fundamentalist, especially if your heart tells you that you cannot and should not take the Bible literally word for word.
Also remember that even the dreaded "Fundamentalist" is actually only a selective literalist and picks and chooses as well what he wants to take literally. For instance, they make ALL KINDS of excuses about not using alcohol, and that the wine in the Bible was not wine (why the warnings about drunkenness, if the wine wasn't alcohol! haha). I don't believe the world was created in seven 24 hour days, I don't believe the first rainbow came with Noah, but still, I am a Christian because I believe in what John 3:16 tells me. That is basic.

Leave a lot of this stuff for the theologians to argue about; most of these things ARE NOT salvation issues.

This gets asked a lot. I do believe the Bible is the inerrant word of God. I know it's been transcribed by men, but I believe those men were under the annointing of the Holy Spirit to do the task, and the task was a God-given one. I also believe that the word we have today is the word God wanted us to have. We will be judged according to this word. God is more than able to see to it that His word was not corrupted by men. He is in total control of His word, and I trust Him. Also, He desires for us to get to know Him through the Bible and wants us to know the truth. He will not allow us to be deceived.
As far as knowing ALL the Bible, if we each lived to be a thousand and studied it for hours each day, we would still never understand all the truths contained in it. But we should walk in the truth we do know, and keep on studying. Remember, God is on our side. He would not set us up for failure. He loves us.

If you had made a few typos in your question, I still would have known what you were asking. The meaning of the Word has never changed with the translations.

As for you feeling it's almost impossible to follow the Bible completely - YES - EXACTLY! That was why Jesus was born, died, and rose, . Fallen man cannot be sinless, but Jesus was. He was the perfect sacrifice, He took our punishment and if we believe that and trust Him to help us follow the Bible, it becomes much easier. With man this is imossible, but with God, all things are possible.

God Bless

Unfortunately people forget a lot of times that the bible is written by man, a council ( several councils)

((he Council of Laodicea stated that only the Old Testament (along with the Apocrypha) and the 27 books of the New Testament were to be read in the churches. The Council of Hippo (A.D. 393) and the Council of Carthage (A.D. 397) also affirmed the same 27 books as authoritative.))

They used a few markers as what was to be included:
1) Was the author an apostle or have a close connection with an apostle?
2) Is the book being accepted by the Body of Christ at large? 3) Did the book contain consistency of doctrine and orthodox teaching?
4) Did the book bear evidence of high moral and spiritual values that would reflect a work of the Holy Spirit?

And values of the time were very different from our values now. Your question is a very good one, and it is good that you see in all things the bible should not be interpreted literally. Personally, I am an atheist I try not to press my views on others, much :). But Kudos on asking the question that few think to ask. It can be interpreted as a book of hate or love depending on the reader. Some Examples Follow below.

ON HUMAN SACRIFICE
"... Thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God..." -- Leviticus 18:21

[In Judges, though, the tale of Jephthah, who led the Israelites against the Ammonoites, is being told. Being fearful of defeat, this good religious man sought to guarantee victory by getting god firmly on his side. So he prayed to god] "... If thou shalt without fail deliver the children of Ammon into mine hands, Then it shall be, that whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be the LORD's, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering" (Judges 11:30-31).

[The terms were acceptable to god -- remember, he is supposed to be omniscient and know the future -- so he gave victory to Jephthah, and the first whatsoever that greeted him upon his glorious return was his daughter, as god surely knew would happen, if god is god. True to his vow, the general made a human sacrifice of his only child to god!] -- Judges 11:29-34 [top]

Old and New Testaments both have these sort of contradictions people say the old was before Jesus came and washed us of our sins, but that doesn't keep people from citing the old testament (and parts of the new) when committing horrible atrocities.

Jaqq.. the Bible is the inspired word of God. the God who created everything would surely make sure his Truth is presented appropriately and his truth is intact in the Bible. Many of man's misunderstandings of God's truths are his own understanding which is limited. If we depend on God to reveal his truth to us we gain in spiritual truths. god is a spirit and we are sinful flesh. when we worship god it is in spirit and in truth. this spiritual understanding only comes form God and is a gift given to those who love and seek the truth and trust God for this truth. Understand this one thing and it may help you. When you argue over your sex ..You are arguing flesh which does perish and God is eternal and forever and so is your spirit. The God who created us in much More concerned with your forever than your temporary flesh which does perish and is sinful..Many things you think you understand regarding the flesh have deeper spiritual meanings.

Man i love your? remember this the bible was written by man but God included us for it was written by man but by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Theres a tex in the the new testament where the samaritan woman was by the water well and Jesus was near by and she ask Jesus the Jews have the synagogues(churches)but i have no place to worship,Jesus said too her "that the only way too worship God is in Spirit and Truth".You see Jesus also said "they profess me with their mouths but there hearts are far from me.'King David was a murderer, and adulterer and he sin just like you and me,but got found favor in him why because if you read Psalms 51 you will find that king David humble himself before God and ask for forgiveness from his crying heart, you see ,the bible says that the just shall live by faith and if you love God with all your heart and trust him he will not leave you comfortless in doubt and disbelief. With man its impossible with God all things are possible! hang in there man God loves you.If your lacking faith and you have doubt just pray without wavering and ask ,that's what i did.. Jesus says the reason you have not is because you ask not....???

The Bible is a selection of tales an legends inspired by the stories that bronze age middle eastern goat herders were telling at night around the camp fire, playing to scare each other.
Tales and legends are not to be" believed", they are to be enjoyed.
