the pagan festival of eastre is all about colouring eggs. when christianity was still young, the missionaries decided to have their festival at the same time as eastre so that people who converted to christianity would get to celebrate something while their pagan friends were still celebrating eastre. so colouring eggs is pagan, what they've got in common with the rebirth of jesus is the celebrations are at the same time

Christianity is a religion imposed on the normal people of the North in order to control them.
Easter eggs etc are from the pagan religions of the North and therefore culturally closer to them.
Eostra is about the rebirth of life in Springtime.

The Easter bunny and egg are pure Paganism...they are both derived from Pagan symbols for fertility which is what spring signifies to Pagans. The whole "resurrection" idea is also pure Paganism as the "cycle of the sun/son" is "reborn" at the spring equinox...the sun/son has risen again. Christianity was COMPLETELY hijacked by Roman Paganism in the first century...no semblance of what Jesus actually taught has existed since the third century.

Absolutely nothing. The egg is just a symbol of re-birth. As for the coloring, it has zero to do with Jesus. Mankind just gets carried away.

Well, since Easter is actually a Pagan holiday that has nothing to do with Jesus and everything to do with spring, rebirth and fertility, painting fertility symbols (eggs) makes perfect sense.

It's all about sectarian versus religion.
The Easter Bunny and Easter eggs are the sectarian aspects of the holiday.
The religious significance of the holiday is that of the day Jesus Christ was resurrected.

It doesn't ... the eggs are from the pagan idea of it being a celebration of fertility. The christians hijacked the idea and covered it up with a fairy story to detract from the fact that it was indeed a pagan celebration.
